Black squirrels are considered an invasive species where I live and they affect the native populations of red fox and chipmunk species by consuming food supplies. What’s interesting is that the native species are found all throughout the forests hours away from any town or city, not the black squirrels tho, they’re primarily isolated to towns and cities - they’re dependent on humans to a great degree. There are oak trees all over the forest and less in town, you’d think you can find black squirrels in the forest away from town but I’ve never seen one. Another invasive species is the black cormorant, they caused so much havoc that at a time ppl were encouraged to shoot on sight as an effort to exterminate their populations locally.

Gas prices are unusually high in my area, there’s a computer chip shortage, as well as problems with freight and the supply-chain in general — there’s a general consensus that all of these things are suddenly getting worse.
