Honestly, they look like they’re having fun. It’s easy to see the allure of war, especial in contrast to the meaningless, powerless lives most of us live today, and add to that the martial instinct within so many of us that wants to be in the thick of combat; it’s enough to make you want to go over there to fight for another country, for a homeland that isn’t your own, even if you know it’s a very bad deal otherwise.

I think there are many men out there (myself included) that really want more martial identity, skill and experience, and they’re typically not “thrill seekers” or suffering from inner turmoil. They just want to fulfill a role and do things that are a core part of traditional male identity, one that has been hardwired into our DNA. It’s something you want to do but can’t explain why without examining your evolutionary psychology. It’s obviously more rational to stay home where it’s safe and play military themed video games, but a lot of things we despise are seemingly “rational.”
I felt the urge to go to Ukraine to fight, and not for any political reasons at all. I’m glad I didn’t, but that feeling is there, it’s always there. Call it “toxic masculinity” if you like, I’ll assume you’re a woman though.

Has anyone considered the possibility that it could be fake? This was a Hollywood event involving two actors — yes they are negros, but as negroes they could have have taken it much further than a single slap.
