People use the UK as a prime example of how disallowing most firearms can “look good” and “is safer” but that place is going to be on the absolute brink within the decade, IMO.

It falls apart as an argument both from the bottom up (dealing with increased crime and racial tension) & the top down (as the state becomes more authoritarian and singular).

The whole killing the kulaks thing comes from elite overproduction theory. 1/3rd of Americans are college grads, many of whom believe they have a right to be PMC. But a normal society can’t function with that many elites, managerial class.

So you have all these angry millennials with liberal arts degrees working at Starbucks who think they have a right to a certain life they were promised, but the system can’t deliver. They become marxists, and that’s their motivation to eventually liquidate the kulaks and appropriate their property, which they think they rightfully deserved all along.

Coming full circle, this is why they hate 2a.

Elite Overproduction: This is certainly a factor exacerbating an already existing tendency toward equality. A lot of young educated people that are struggling financially are much more open to Marxist propaganda, so they unwittingly end up becoming social justice types as part of a revenge-impulse against a society that they believe failed them, since they’re struggling financially despite having jumped though all the hoops that society and their parents told them to jump through. In other words, they end up unwittingly fighting for “oppressed minorities” because they feel oppressed too, and joining this coalition of the oppressed is their opportunity for revenge against the “evil white supremacist system” that didn’t give them a good position after college and an arduous, demoralizing job search.

Perhaps they feel that if they can help blacks get reparations, their own reparations will be around the corner.
