In the USA, there’s few issues as racially divisive in mainstream politics as the right to keep and bear arms. While mainstream conservatives may shy away from explicitly talking about race, many of the most divisive issues are implicitly racial. The Second Amendment is implicitly White in a way that effectively separates conservatives Whites from the majority of non-Whites and leftists.

Yes, there are non-Whites and leftists that are also pro-2A, but they are the minority of 2A rights supporters, and I don’t think their views on gun rights carry over to their posterity they way we see with White conservatives that have a generational history of being culturally American.
