"The man who lives with the Gods is the one whose soul is constantly on display to them as content with its lot and obedient to the will of the guardian spirit, the fragment of himself that Zeus has granted every person to act as his custodian and command center. And in each of us this is mind and reason." Meditations, Marcus Aurelius, 5.27

Archeologists have discovered a well-preserved statue in an ancient sewer in Bulgaria, and it is believed to date back to the 2nd century A.D. The team, lead by Dr. Lyudmil Vagalinski, says the statue likely depicts the ancient Greek god Hermes and is the first of its kind found in Bulgaria.

The statue was discovered during the team's third day of excavations in Heraclea Sintica, an ancient city on the slope of the volcanic hill Kozhuh near Petrich.

The last several months I've been going through a spiritual desert, but today something happened that made me turn to the gods and thank them. I could have gotten seriously injured or died together with my sons due to someone's carelessness on the road. Usually at this turn I don't yield too much because rarely does a car come through, but today for some reason I had a feeling I should slow down. I did, and completely stopped, and had I not I think the person speeding and not seeing me the last second would have gone right into me and through our windshield. He was looking everywhere but in front of him, distracted. It was so close that I heard onlookers gasp. Today is Wednesday, Hermes day, and "coincidentally" the goats are outside my window as I made offerings to Hermes of the roads. So Khaire to you, Hermes of the roads, protector of travelers ♥️

And yet I must be grateful to my Delphi
and the son of the blessed Maia,
for he never permitted exile
to bring me to my knees and discourage me.
He has been my guide through many lands and over rough seas,
as I was tossed about here and there by the fates,
and the benevolent gave me the gift
of writing poems in Scythian and Latin.
