“Too Much Love”, a photo series by Katja Kemnitz that shows how children love their stuffed animals until they are worn and tattered.

The series presents before and after images of each child’s toy to show how hours of being loved transforms them.

The series was inspired by Kemnitz’s daughter, who one day found the exact same plush in a store without any damages. However, the daughter did not like it. The old toy was better and could not be replaced.

“Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."
