Biometric servers update and reset

Dear human nodes,

The biometric servers have been updated, and the reboot will happen during the epoch that starts at 15:40 UTC Today (Thursday, June 22, 2023).

As the reboot means that It will be the beginning of a new epoch, all human nodes (node runners) will have 4 hours to go through bio-authentication enrollment and to reauthenticate to ensure that your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch.
Keep in mind that you do not need to rotate the keys but you must re-enroll.

One other thing to note is that this update of the biometric servers will not affect BotBasher verification.

We will notify you once the biometric servers have been rebooted.

The biometric servers have been updated, and Have been rebooted.

Please go through bio-authentication enrollment and reauthenticate to ensure that your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch.

Keep in mind that you do not need to rotate the keys but you must re-enroll.

One other thing to note is that this update of the biometric servers will not affect BotBasher verification, and all previous encrypted biometric data is deleted forever during this process.

Contest Voting Issue

Dear Verified Humans who participated in, or tried to participate in the I am human graffiti contest voting,

We have become aware of an issue with the voting bot that we have been utilizing for the Sybil-resistant contest voting channel.

In short, the vote count stopped at 125, and no one has been able to vote since. When they try to vote, they get a message that states "This interaction failed".

The Humanode team contacted the developer of this bot, trying to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, we were told that “The poll seems to be lost from our database”.

After further investigation, we received a reply stating that “If a poll ends it gets deleted so all data is gone, it seems like the poll was ended 5 hrs early because of an inaccuracy in system clocks, after that there is nothing I can do”.

The Humanode dev team will investigate the issue further to make sure that this will not be an ongoing issue, and to see if the root cause can be determined. If need be, we will find another voting bot.

In light of the above, and to make sure that there is absolute fairness in the voting process, the Humanode team will delete the current vote (as the DB is lost, we don’t know who got how many votes, and those who wanted to vote couldn’t), and conduct a fresh vote early next week or as soon as we can determine that there will be no further errors.

We apologize to those who have been affected by this issue (especially the contestants), and share your frustration caused by this error.

Either you need to go into “Channels and Roles” in the Humanode Discord Server and make sure that those channels have not been turned off, or you need to check the #⁠verification channel so that you can learn how to become verified, and become a Verified Human. Remember, your private biometric ID can only be tied to one Discord account, and will absolutely not work if you try to verify multiple accounts with the same face. One human, one vote.

Today the team would like to announce the dates for the Humanode Conference 2023!

The HumanodeCon `23 will be held from September 1st to September 2nd, for 2 days of panel discussions, special presentations, tutorials, guest speakers, and some fun in general!

The majority of the conference will be held online (Venue to be announced at a later date), and the sign-up process will begin later this month.

In addition to the online conference, the Humanode team will also be gathering together from around the globe to meet up in Batumi, Georgia. So, if you happen to be a short hop away from Georgia (or if you don’t mind flying across the globe, like the team members), we plan to rent out a venue for some great food, drink, music, and camaraderie, and you are welcome to join the fun too!

With Humanode EVM around the corner, and some new breakthroughs concerning Homomorphic Encryption and Humanode Bio-Authorization, and many new partnerships being built with various Web3 projects and communities, this is a conference that you will not want to miss.
