had an interesting conversation today
this father of three had the exact same thoughts as me wrt world views, my society, global economy outlook, etc.
i expressed my pessimism/doomerism, however he was actually optimistic
he told me to never lose my hope/happiness and if i could even convert one pessimist to an optimist, that is an exponential act that could potentially go a long way
i am once again awed by how two humans can have the same thoughts and views, but maintain different personal attitudes
had a really great conversation w this man and hearing how he parents his children and growing up stories just makes me respect him a lot as well

also heard another hot take today:
the world needs another great war or reset
do you agree?

Voices: Young adults are job-hopping faster than ever. Here's why mentorship could change that
Genuine mentorship, built on time and patience, is increasingly rare in today's fast-paced workplaces. But it's worth the investment - both for younger workers and older.

social media isn't social anymore! only 7% of time spent on instagram in 2025 is spent on viewing content from friends.
social media is no longer social because majority of people’s fyp does not even consist of their friends anymore, but instead random content fed by the algorithm

the rise of small, high-trust communities micro-networks (telegram groups are an example)
time to build something unique and start a podcast
no better time for something authentic in the age of ai and meaningless social media

what would be a good name for a podcast?
assuming the podcast would be something like this channel
inner world and peace talks, general societal trends and observations, and all things interesting in life
a curation of interesting reads and concepts, in hopes of making an impact no matter how small

I don’t know why this thought from Emma has been playing on repeat in my head for weeks now. I think it’s because she found language that explains a whole lot of other things to me, like fear of rejection, why relationships sometimes feel like a masquerade…

we're heading toward a "posting zero" world, where people stop posting to compete against the chaos happening on social media feeds

This is the logical endpoint of a frictionless society: when every external stimulation is instantly available, people are left with nowhere to turn but inward, and what do we find? Emptiness. The unending stream of content hasn't filled the void; it's simply distracted us from developing the internal resources to cope with it.

the removal of friction is leading us headfirst, in the words of Stuart Whatley, to a society that is bored to death - leaving us vulnerable to toxic and damaging ideologies:
