Gitcoin rounds starts soon!
Don’t forget to check all the rounds and apply with your projects (but don’t spam, go with the once that are applicable for you)
https://grants.gitcoin.co
I’ve applied with LunCo to DeSci and Collabtech Rounds
And with HuperDeSci to Web3 Grants Ecosystem advancement
Let me know if anyone would like to make an application to Token Engineering round with HyperDeSci as it requires tons of work that I don’t have energy for right now + I’m not sure if we should stack to Optimism Superchain

I’m thinking of running an experiment to fund science.
The idea is much inspired by all the talks we had about desci at zuvillage Georgia, thx to everyone whom I met
1. Mint a token, add some liquidity e.g 1000$
2. Distribute some of them e.g. 10% among well-known community members (like previous grantees, or people who met irl, or we trust) to be used as to stake for eligibility of projects
3. 5% airdrop with a promise to use it for voting among everyone who would apply (with anti Sybil/screening)
3.1 maybe 2% of those 5% to airdrop to previous donors to desci rounds on gitcoin?
4. 6% airdrop to those who voted on the round after they distribute all the funds from step 3
5. 10% matching fund for projects on the round with 10% matching cap
6. 10% as initial lp
7. 10% to the team who will run it distributed e.g. via coordinape
8. Later all the funds raised in a form of grants:donations and other activities would be used to buy token to be used as matching pool
Total: 41%
The rest 59 to leave in treasury for further distribution/experiments?
Who is down to make it happen?
Ps suggestions are highly welcome
PPS it’s a pure coordination exercise, internal community token without any expectation of profit
PPS we could do a lot of treasury management via juicebox

HyperDeSci is on Giveth round!
By donating a dollar (ideally a GloDollar) you'll help to secure funds to run the experiment!
(Essentially those funds would be distributed among DeSci projects!)

Let’s run a small experiment!
With a matching pool say $100 let’s add it to LP and distribute it for HyperDeSci activities, so:
1. Looking for project who would like to participate in the experiment
2. People who would help with operations eg setting lp

Web3 Crash Course: From Basics to Advanced Concepts
This crash course will introduce you to key concepts and practical knowledge to help you navigate the Web3 Space.
Basic Concepts
1. Blockchain/DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology)
- A decentralized, transparent, and immutable digital ledger
- Records transactions across multiple computers
2. Cryptocurrency
- Digital or virtual currencies built on blockchain technology
3.Web3
- Communities on top of crypto
- Enables user ownership and control of data and digital assets
4. Blockchain Ecosystems
- Various blockchains exist with different properties and purposes
- Each has its own community and use cases (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot)
5. Cryptography Basics
- Private keys: Secret codes that prove ownership and allow transactions
- Public keys: Derived from private keys, used to receive funds
- Addresses: Shortened versions of public keys for easier use
6. Wallets
- Software or hardware tools to interact with blockchain e.g. send currencies
- Browser wallets e.g. Metamask
7. Gas Fees
- Transaction costs paid in a blockchain's native token
- Compensates network validators for processing transactions
8. Tokens and Utilities
- Cryptocurrencies built on existing blockchains (e.g., ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum)
- Can represent various assets or utilities like voting rights in DAOs
9. Interaction with wallet:
- Seed phrase
- Connect to website
- sign message
- execute transaction
Advanced Concepts
1. Layer 2 Solutions (L2s)
- Built on top of existing blockchains to improve scalability and reduce fees
- Examples: Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon
2. Multisignature Wallets (Multisigs)
- Require multiple signatures to authorize transactions
- Enhance security and enable shared control of funds
3. Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Basics
- Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs): Trade cryptocurrencies without intermediaries
- Bridges: Transfer assets between different blockchains
- token allowance/revoking with Revoke.cash
4. Advanced DeFi
- Lending protocols: Borrow or lend cryptocurrencies
- Liquidity pools: Provide assets to DEXs and earn rewards
5. Public Goods
- Platforms for donations and grants in cryptocurrency
- Examples: Gitcoin, Giveth, Octant
6. DAOs and Coordination
- Decentralized Autonomous Organizations
- Community-led entities with shared treasuries and decision-making
7. Quadratic voting/funding, and other voting mechanisms e.g. conviction voting
Practical Tips
1. Fiat-Crypto Conversion (On/Off Ramps)
- How to buy cryptocurrencies with traditional money and vice versa
2. Living on Crypto
- Services accepting crypto payments: hotels, flights, transportation, food
- Crypto debit cards for everyday purchases
3. Safety and Security
- Always double-check addresses before sending funds
- Use hardware wallets for long-term storage of significant amounts
- Be wary of phishing attempts and too-good-to-be-true offers
Remember, the Web3 space is rapidly evolving. Stay curious, keep learning, and always do your own research (DYOR) before making any financial decisions.

DeSpace: Bringing the Web3 to Outer Space
Short for "Decentralized Space," it's a fancy term for projects that mix space exploration with web3 tech.
Possible applications:
1. Space Daos
2. Space-focused DeFi tools
3. Utilizing web3 voting systems like Quadratic Voting, or Conviction Voting for Space Exploration
At it's core it's all about people passionate about Space Exploration and Decentralization

Conviction voting
Conviction voting is a form of voting that allows token holders to express their support for multiple proposals over time.
You vote for an option and with time the strength of your vote increases according to predefined formula.
It could be applied to situation, where continues voting makes sense, e.g. in project eligibility for the grants round. Instead of qualifying projects right before the round by a small group of selected stewards why not to rely on community votes?
Often people in the community do not have time to go over tons of applications/proposals over a short period of time, but if it'll be distrubted across a longer period more people would be able to cast their vote.
HyperDeSci is about experimenting with novel mechanisms and Gardens provides us not just with a tool to make it happen, but also to raise some funds on their upcoming round, later to be distributed via Conviction voting on Gardens.
Let's do some fun(draising), so:
1. Create a profile on Gardens on Arbitrum and join HyperDeSci community (you'll have to stake 1 Arb, let me know if you do not have and I'll send):
https://app.gardens.fund/gardens/42161/0x912ce59144191c1204e64559fe8253a0e49e6548/0xc3ba42da1d9f6b09d4d1315ac04f873a5ba64d3c
2. Later the funds from Gardens QF would be distributed via Gardens mechanisms to projects that would apply.
3. If you do not have a project - plz still apply, so later you'll be able to vote for projects, if they are DeSci/should be eligible for grants distribution or not
Please create a profile and join HyperDeSci by 17th of October to make us eligible for the round.
PS I expect that participating project would get a couple of hundred of $, some exp with Conviction voting. It would take a couple of hours on a course of several weeks
