DeSpace: Bringing the Web3 to Outer Space

Short for "Decentralized Space," it's a fancy term for projects that mix space exploration with web3 tech.

Possible applications:

2. Space-focused DeFi tools

At it's core it's all about people passionate about Space Exploration and Decentralization

Greetings, space enthusiasts! This is Rod Mamin, Space Systems Engineer and founder of LunCo.

The goal of the channel - to accelerate space exploration by harnessing the power of web3.

TLDR

With 10-20 projects high quality space related projects collaboratively we can get sponsorships from web3 projects to matching pool and distribute it via Quadratic Voting


Why Web3?
At its core, web3 drastically enhances economic efficiency by reducing the cost of value transfering. This enables unprecedented levels of worldwide coordination – a crucial factor in advancing space exploration.

Next steps

1. Reach web3-ready space projects, engineers enthusiasts
2. Onboard them
3. With enough projects establish basic governance
4. With community effort fund-raise treasury
5. Use treasury to support space exploration projects and onboard more people (e.g. run QF rounds on Gitcoin)
6. Encourage internal collaborations, ultimately leading to a sustainable despace economy

Conviction voting

Conviction voting is a form of voting that allows token holders to express their support for multiple proposals over time.

You vote for an option and with time the strength of your vote increases according to predefined algo.

It could be applied to situation, where continues voting makes sense, e.g. in project eligibility for the grants round. Instead of qualifying projects right before the round by a small group of selected stewards why not to rely on community votes?

Often people in the community do not have time to go over tons of applications/proposals over a short period of time, but if it'll be distrubted across a longer period more people would be able to cast their vote.

HyperDeSci is about experimenting with novel mechanisms and Gardens provides us not just with a tool to make it happen, but also to raise some funds on their upcoming round, later to be distributed via Conviction voting on Gardens.

Let's have some fun(draising), so:
