Over the past five years, childhood vaccination rates in Australia have decreased by 3%, according to the National Immunisation Program. In 2017, the vaccination rate for children under five was above 94%. However, by 2023, these rates have dropped to around 91-92%.

Vitamin K is crucial for normal blood clotting, but newborns are born with very low levels. To prevent serious bleeding, healthcare professionals administer Konakion MM paediatric (synthetic Vitamin K1) on the first day of life.
