I don't know what's true when it comes to Population Stats, but I know Cities or clusters of Cities give the illusion of over-population. As soon as I drive in any direction away from my city cluster, it's just vast open land and nature, nearly no one around, quiet and empty.

People Who Find Their Track have some shared qualities that begin to emerge, they begin to:

-Immerse themselves in Nature
-Choose Experiences over Stuff
-Create over Consume
-Called to Service/Help others
-They stop fighting the system, they abandon the system.
