This crash is tied to the ByBit hack and it’s all market manipulation to help them recover their losses.
Exchanges that bailed out ByBit loaned them money, then liquidated all their longs from their customers while ByBit shorted the market. They coordinated, dumping ETH and SOL to drive prices down. Wintermute is involved.
Other exchanges don’t want ByBit to collapse, it would be another FTX-level disaster and trigger a bear market. So they bail out ByBit, wipe out longs, and profit off their shorts. Classic manipulation. If there were regulations, this would be illegal.
In the end, they print more money, help ByBit pay back its loans, make money on interest, and keep the market from total collapse.
Another thing to keep in mind:
Trump and Elon want to audit the Federal Gold Reserve at Fort Knox. If any gold is missing, it will weaken the dollar, triggering a massive shift in the economy and markets. No one will want to hold cash, they’ll move into stocks, the S&P 500, and other assets. Any time the dollar weakens, markets pump.
The moment interest on the dollar drops due to lost strength, money flows elsewhere. If this audit happens and exposes issues, it could be a major catalyst.
High interest rates keep money in the US dollar. Low interest rates push money into higher-yielding assets like crypto and stocks.
