Nawwwww! Baby pigmy hippos are sooooo cute!! 😍😍

Taronga Zoo in Sydney Australia has just released footage of a brand new pygmy hippo calf, birthed by mum Kambiri late last month.

These shy, nocturnal hippopotamids hail from the forests and swamps of Liberia and surrounding African countries, where they feast on ferns, broad-leaves, grasses and fruits. Less that 2,500 remain in the wild, thanks to illegal hunting and habitat loss.

This youngster is part of an important captive breeding program to assure this species' survival.
