تجربه زندگی در بخش های با فرهنگ و اقتصاد مبتنی بر کشاورزی در آمریکا، تجربه ای جدید و منحصر به فرد بود برای من که به غیر از سال های کودکی، بخش نوجوانی به بعد خود را در شهرهای بزرگ در ایران گذرانده بودم.

این استقلال منحصر به فرد و زندگی متکی به خود در بین کشاورزان در بخش های روستایی به صورت خاص و ساکنین نواحی اطراف شهرها* به صورت عام، چیزی بود که قبلا اصلا در تصورم نمی گنجید.

امروز چشمم خورد به مطلبی درمورد نقش یکی از موسس های این کشور، توماس جفرسون، در شکل گیری و توسعه این شیوه زندگی. به نظرم بسیار جالب و آموزنده آمد.

The Agriculture, Food, and Human Values Society (AFHVS) invites submissions for the 2026 AFHVS Student Research Paper Awards. The papers can come from students in a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds and should be on some topic of relevance to the Society’s focus. See more details in the attached call for papers.

What does the award include?

Winners are expected to present their paper at the AFHVS conference within two years of winning the award, and a space in a panel is guaranteed. The winning graduate student (or one of the winning students) is also expected to serve on the AFHVS Student Paper Awards Committee the following year.

Winners will be invited/expected to present their paper at the 2026 or 2027 conference in-person (preferable) or virtually (when offered), co-hosted by:

The Association for the Study of Food and Society (ASFS)

Agriculture Food & Human Values Society (AFHVS)

Each award also includes:

Conference registration reimbursement.

A ticket to the evening program/banquet event at the conference.

Formal recognition at the conference and on the AFHVS website as an award winner.

A two-year AFHVS membership.

$300 cash prize

Based on the recommendation of the Student Research Paper Award Committee, the winning graduate student paper may be forwarded to the journal Agriculture and Human Values for review for possible publication.

بانک جهانی در سال ۲۰۰۸ پژوهشی بر ۶۵ کشور که بیمه محصولات کشاورزی ارایه می داده اند، انجام داده است. کشور ایران هم در بین جامعه هدف بوده است.

در رابطه با این پژوهش:

The key objectives of the survey were to document international experience with public and private agricultural insurance in developed and developing economies and to examine the ways in which governments support agricultural insurance.

The survey was based on a questionnaire designed by the World Bank to elicit information about the organizational structure of agricultural insurance in each country; the type of agricultural insurer (public or private
); and, in markets with public sector intervention, the nature and types of support and their cost to the public sector.

پروژه Drought Tolerant Maize for Africa (DTMA) برای تولید بذر گیاه ذرت مقاوم به خشکسالی در سال 2007 آغاز شد.

پروژه Water Efficient Maize for Africa برای تولید بذر گیاه ذرت با بهره وری بالا در مصرف آب در سال 2008 آغاز شد.
