Biden administration ‘prepared to defend’ COVID-19 vaccine mandate even after appeals court freezes it
US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy has said that the White House is “prepared to defend” its controversial vaccine mandate from a recent freeze imposed by an appeals court.
Asked if the mandate, which was set to be in place on January 4, could “survive” the recent court-ordered stop from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Murthy told ABC on Sunday that the mandate remains “appropriate and necessary” and will be defended in court.

Poland/Belarus border crisis risks rising tensions as 12K troops stationed
Hundreds of migrants are said to be camping out near the Belarus-Poland border, with up to 4,000 in nearby forests, while Polish special services estimate there could be up to 12k migrants in Belarus.
In response to the swelling numbers Poland’s Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed 12,000 soldiers, 4,000 border guards, 1,500 police officers and 250 anti-terrorism agents have been deployed to handle the situation.
