Astronomers have spotted the closest-ever recorded pair of supermassive black holes in a galaxy not so far away - just 89MN light years from Earth.
The two are expected to merge, a phenomena that usually occurs when two galaxies come together, and offers scientists a rare opportunity to study the event.
One of the black holes is estimated to be 154MN-times the mass of the sun.
