Christmas Eve and Christmas Day saw more than 4,500 flights canceled and more than 11,000 delayed worldwide, with American and Chinese carriers responsible for the majority of the interruptions.
The disruptions continued on Sunday. According to flight tracking firm FlightAware, 2,323 flights were canceled as of late afternoon, and a further 8,327 were delayed.

1011 flights were scrapped Monday afternoon as some airlines struggled to replace employees struck down by the Covid Omicron variant.
That adds to the whopping 2,300 US flights which were reportedly canceled over the Christmas holiday weekend.
Delta, United and JetBlue acknowledged disruptions were partly due to workers being affected by the spread of Coronavirus.

Multiple injuries following mid-air fight on Delta Tampa to Atlanta flight.
Video uploaded to Twitter shows a woman cursing at a fellow passenger to “put his mask on,” before striking him in the face and getting into a heated altercation with Delta staff.
Why the fight broke out on the Atlanta-bound flight from Tampa has not yet been released, however police did say the took a Patricia Cornwall into custody.
