Turkey: Powerful explosion at major Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline
The country’s state pipeline operator Botas announced Tuesday it had managed to cut oil flow from the damaged Kirkuk-Ceyhan network after an explosion near Kahramanmaras.
Firefighters were deployed to battle the blaze and managed to get into under control according to a statement from Botas.
The reason for the explosion is yet to be determined - the pipeline is reportedly responsible for 110,000 barrels of oil per day.

Hacker group APT37 attacked the Foreign Ministry and its employees in late 2021 subsequently compromising the account of a government employee, security experts warned.
Cyber security researchers claim some employees were sent phishing emails asking to provide vaccination details, while others were fed with links to malware disguised as software the Russian government uses to collect Covid vaccination statuses.
From the compromised address, hackers managed to send a phishing email to Russian Deputy Minister Sergey Ryabkov on December 20 and also targeted the Russian Embassy in Indonesia.

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 has launched 49 more Starlink satellites into orbit, bringing the total number to 2,042.
A recent study in the Astrophysical Journal Letters, however, has claimed that the thousands of low orbit satellites are ruining an alarming number of astronomical photographs, which could leave Earth prone to deadly asteroids.
On Sunday, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk boasted that 1,469 Starlink satellites were currently active in low orbit. Thousands of other satellites are also orbiting Earth, with a report in September placing that number at nearly 8,000.

Roscosmos cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov integrate the Nauka Multipurpose Laboratory module into the Russian segment of the ISS. The multipurpose laboratory module "Nauka" was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome on July 21, and on July 29 it docked to the ISS.
The module is designed to serve as a scientific research facility. After its commissioning, the Russian segment will receive additional segments for workplaces, cargo storage, and be able to regenerate water and oxygen.
