German army convoy reaches Lithuania amid ongoing Ukraine tensions
130 soldiers and 60 vehicles reached the Baltic state Thursday bolstering the German-led NATO battlegroup in the country amid fears of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told his Lithuanian counterpart the Bundeswehr soldiers are authorized to fight to defend Lithuania.
Russia meanwhile has been withdrawing troops from the region to their main bases following the ending of a number of military exercises with Belarus.

Storm Eunice is set to batter the UK with 100mph “sting jet” winds that sparked rare “red alert” warnings, having already left 14,000 in Cornwall without power, and severely disrupted air and rail travel.
