From Lab to Field: InteRussia Fellows Continue to Plunge into the World of Fertilizer Production 🌱

Our fellows in agrobiotechnologies recently became guests of the Uralchem Innovation Reseacrh and Development Center with a profound technological infrastructure capable of covering a wide range of agrobiotechnology-related tasks.

Uralchem is the leading producer of fertilisers and chemical products in Russia and is among the largest players worldwide. The key area of its activity is the production of nitrogen, potash and complex fertilisers, feed additives, as well as chlorine-free premium fertilisers with micronutrients. Moreover, Uralchem Group offers industrial chemicals for various industries, including chemical, construction, mining, metalworking, oil and gas, and others.

Our engineers saw with their own eyes how science and technology come together to inspire a global shift in agriculture. In particular, they

InteRussia Fellows Step into the World of Russian Musicals 🎭

After visiting the Bolshoi Theater, the Maly Theater, and the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre, the fellows added a modern twist to their cultural journey with a stop at the Moscow Musical Theater. Their guide for this latest theatrical adventure? None other than Mikhail Shvydkoy, the theater's artistic director.

He began his journey at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts before rising through the ranks of the cultural sector. His notable positions include heading the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and leading the "Culture" TV channel. From 2000 to 2004, Shvydkoy served as Russia's Minister of Culture. Currently, he balances his role as the artistic director of the Moscow Musical Theater with his duties as the Special Presidential Representative for International Cultural Cooperation.

Shvydkoy took the fellows on a journey through time, from the Soviet era when stages reflected everyday realities to the present day where theaters offer an escape from daily life. He shared insights on the challenges of past censorship, the creativity enjoyed today, and even revealed some facts about their audience demographics.

From the grandeur of the Bolshoi to the modern beats of musicals, these fellows aren't just watching Russian theater evolve – they're getting a front-row seat to their show!

What’s Happening with Our Wireless Technology Fellows? ⏳

The Moscow metro, one of the busiest in the world, traditionally arouses special interest among our fellows. However, this time they managed to penetrate deeper and get acquainted with its invisible side. Our engineers learned about wireless communication technologies in the Moscow public transport at a lecture organized by Transtelecom. 

TTK is one of the top-5 Russian telecommunications companies. It operates one of the largest fiber networks in Russia, which is more than 83 000 km long. TTK implements large-scale telecommunication projects and introduces a full range of telecommunication services for other state companies and end-users.

During the meeting, the participants discussed

💡technical arrangement of Wi-Fi and mobile Internet distribution systems in Moscow transport;

💡communication on short-distance and long-distance trains, the latter of which have a satellite communications access system;

💡software and multimedia platform implemented on Russian Railways trains;

💡the complexities of the technical arrangement of Moscow transport and prospects for further development.

But that is not all: each fellow is also working on individual projects tailored to his or her development path. Guided by mentors from the Skoltech Project Center for Next Generation Wireless and Internet of Things, they are tackling real-world challenges and contributing to the future of the industry.

Already this week we will lift the veil of secrecy and show innovative solutions developed by our engineers.

A New 'Seagull' Spreads Its Wings Across Cultures 🎭

At the InteRussia program's grand finale, our fellows proved that Chekhov's "The Seagull" can soar in any language. This wasn't your typical stage production — it was a whirlwind tour, with performers bringing their cultural flair to one of Russia's most beloved plays.

"The Seagull" is a masterpiece that delves into the complex lives of artists and those who love them. At its heart are Konstantin, a young playwright seeking to revolutionize theater, and Nina, an aspiring actress. Their stories intertwine with those of Trigorin, a famous writer, and Arkadina, an accomplished actress.

Our international ensemble brought these characters to life in ways both familiar and surprising. The performance unfolded in three captivating acts:

➖ key scenes from the original play;
➖ creative interpretations of moments Chekhov left to the imagination;
➖ a series of unique takes on Konstantin's experimental play-within-the-play.

As the final applause faded, one thing was clear: Chekhov's timeless exploration of human nature and artistic pursuit continues to resonate across borders, inspiring a new generation of global artists to spread their creative wings.

New Medical Horizons: InteRussia Fellowship for Foreign Doctors Get Started 💊

On September 23, the InteRussia fellowship programme in medicine opened its doors to professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bolivia, Serbia, China, Ethiopia, and Uzbekistan who gathered in Moscow to gain practical experience at leading Russian healthcare institutions and work with top specialists at the Sechenov University.

The opening ceremony was marked by welcoming speeches from representatives of the Gorchakov Fund, Sechenov University, Rossotrudnichestvo, as well as other partners of the New Generation program.

Their key points included:

🔴medicine serves as a global bridge and plays a crucial role in fostering public diplomacy;

🔴Russian healthcare institutions are at the forefront of cutting-edge research and treatment methods;

🔴the program offers an unprecedented chance to learn from Russian leading professionals and contribute to international medical collaboration.

Following the launch event, participants went on a sightseeing tour of Moscow. They visited the iconic landmarks, immersing themselves in the rich cultural and historical atmosphere before diving into the intensive learning and training two-week schedule ahead.
