The shortest InteRussia fellowship has wrapped up in Moscow. "Why only two weeks?" you might ask. This medical whirlwind is precisely calibrated for maximum effect and minimal disruption. It's the sweet spot where working doctors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bolivia, Serbia, China, Ethiopia, and Uzbekistan can step away from their patients — long enough to absorb cutting-edge knowledge, short enough to return swiftly to those who need them most.

The Rise of the Global Majority: InteRussia Fellows Explore How New Interests Shape Global Power 🌎

🆗 Their daily life is bustling with activity, we answer.

Today, our international relations specialists from the CIS states took part in the presentation of the Valdai Club’s report noscriptd ”The Global Majority and Its Interests.” This event focused on the shifting dynamics of global influence and the growing importance of countries beyond the traditional Western power centers.

The Valdai Discussion Club is a prestigious forum that brings together global experts, policymakers, and thought leaders to discuss pressing international issues. Since its founding in 2004, it has been recognized for promoting dialogue and fostering deeper understanding of key global trends, particularly in the time of multipolarity.

Our fellows gained a deeper understanding of how Asian, African, Latin American, and other regional states collectively known as the global majority are playing an increasingly influential role in international relations. The participants discussed the challenges these countries face, and also highlighted their growing strategic importance on the global stage and considered the new opportunities for cooperation.

Unpacking Russia's Role in a Shifting Global Landscape 🌐

On October 11, our journalists from the BRICS+ countries met with Sergey Ryabkov, Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. This engaging discussion stood out as one of the vivid programme's moments providing clear insights into Russian foreign policy and its role in the international arena.

The event covered several significant topics offering a deeper understanding of Russia's position on various global issues:

🔴Russian 2024 BRICS chairmanship and the 2024 BRICS Summit in Kazan, as well as development of a BRICS trade currency;

🔴Russia's role in the Middle East and Israel-Palestinian conflict resolution;

🔴the current state of Russia's relations with the new Brazilian government, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Kenya, and Iran;

🔴Russia's position on the Sudanese civil war.

“The meeting with Mr. Ryabkov was one of the nicest moments in the program so far. He openly talked about Russia's decisive role in the construction of a new global multipolar order. His statements about countries from all over the world showed Moscow's commitment and interest in development of relations and cooperation with the Global South,” noted Yuri Ferreira Nogueir, the InteRussia programme's participant, journalist at Revista Forum.
