What’s the meaning? It lies in art 🌸

Our fellows plunged into the world of modern creativity and cultural reflection by attending the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. They explored works that challenge conventional perspectives and spark meaningful dialogue.

Garage Museum of Contemporary Art was founded in 2008 by Dasha Zhukova and Roman Abramovich. Garage has amassed an extensive archive on the history of Russian contemporary art, publishes books on a wide range of themes connected to contemporary culture, organizes film screenings and talks, and offers long-term programs of support for artists and regional art institutions. In 2024, Garage began forming a collection of contemporary art.

Viewing the museum exhibits often goes beyond simply observing the art. To truly understand the pieces, you need to engage with them on a deeper level, reflecting on the stories and meanings behind the work.
