Russian State Library Hosts Opening of InteRussia Program on Russian Studies ✏️

On May 17, the conference hall of the Russian State Library hosted the grand opening of the "Education" block of Rossotrudnichestvo's "New Generation" program, within the framework of which more than 100 foreign specialists came to Russia for an internship.

📌Among them — participants of InteRussia on Russian studies.

The foreigners were welcomed by:
✅Vadim Duda, Director General of the RSL
✅Yevgeny Primakov, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo
✅Victoria Karslieva, Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund
✅Dina Gorbatova, Vice-Rector for Education Development and Digitalization at the Pushkin Institute
✅Roman Raikin, Vice-Rector for the Development of International Activities at the Altai State University

The InteRussia on Russian studies includes 2️⃣6️⃣ specialists from 1️⃣6️⃣ countries: India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Slovakia, Serbia, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Mexico and Brazil.

📣Next week, they will take part in the largest event on the study of the Russian language – the Kostomarov Forum, which will be held from May 22 to 24 in Moscow.

Russianists + Love for Russian Writers = Peredelkino 💜

Today, our Russianists embarked on a journey to get better acquainted with Russia's literary giants — in Peredelkino!

📌 Peredelkino is the legendary writers' colony located just southwest of Moscow.

Peredelkino was set up in the 1930s and became an epicentre of literature in the Soviet days. Some of the most prominent writers of the 20th century lived and worked here. At one time or another Peredelkino became home to Boris Pasternak, Korney Chukovsky, Isaac Babel, Konstantin Paustovsky, Bulat Okudzhava, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Bella Akhmadulina and many others.

The day started with a meeting with Asya Volodina, a current resident. Asya shared her creative journey, her experience learning and teaching Estonian.

Next, the group took a tour of old Peredelkino, visiting the houses of Russian writers. And — shh, it's a secret — they even made a stop at the local cemetery, where they paid their respects at the graves of Boris Pasternak and Robert Rozhdestvensky.

What a day filled with literary inspiration and a deeper appreciation for Russian literature! 😍

What's going on with our InteRussia journalism participants? 🔍

On May 23, our fellows visited the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

There, they met with Deputy Director Vasily Kuznetsov, who gave them a crash course on the institute's history and international collaborations. He also shed light on Russia's foreign policy priorities in the Middle East region.

The conversation then took an exciting turn as they delved into the nitty-gritty of security in North Africa, the recent flare-up of tensions between Palestine and Israel, and the current state of Russia-Egypt relations.

VDNH Hosts Opening of InteRussia Program on Engineering 🔧

On May 24, the "Atom" pavilion at VDNH hosted the grand opening of the "Science and Technology" block of Rossotrudnichestvo's "New Generation" program, within the framework of which participants of the InteRussia internship on engineering arrived in Russia.

Among the speakers were:
✅ Dmitry Polikanov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo
✅ Mr. Bashar Jaafari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation
✅ Dr. Yousef Luay, Head of the Russian-Syrian Business Council
✅ Alexander Rogozhin, Director for Personnel Management and Organizational Development of the Wind Energy Division of Rosatom State Corporation
✅ Victoria Karslieva, Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund
✅ Evgeny Pavlovsky, Head of the Laboratory of Streaming Data Analytics and Machine Learning at Novosibirsk State University.

After the opening, two master classes were held for the participants: on the use of neural networks and clean energy. Then, they were given a tour of the "Atom" pavilion exhibition, as well as the "Russia" exhibition.

🌍 In total, 1️⃣6️⃣ people from 9️⃣ countries: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, India, Belarus, Indonesia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Algeria — arrived within the framework of the program.
