Invasion Protocol: how the apocalypse is created.

Developing a game world in the Invasion Protocol is a complex process combining artistic vision and powerful technology. Talk about the key technical details.

The process of creating a game universe

Concept art and pre-production:


1.We use Photoshop, Blender and Substance Painter to create initial sketches and 3D models.
2. Each location goes through a stage of blocking — prototyping a level with primitive shapes to test the gameplay.

Modeling and texturing:

1. To create landscapes, we use procedural generation (Houdini + Unreal Engine 5), followed by manual modification.
2. Nanite technology in UE5 allows you to use highly polygonal assets.
3. Dynamic textures are created in Substance Designer.

Atmosphere and Lighting:


1. Lumen (Global Lighting in UE5) provides realistic light behavior.
2. For weather effects (acid rain, sandstorms), we use custom shaders and the Niagara particle system.

This is one of the first samples on photo, no details yet.

Hello everyone! We are publishing the development status of the Invasion Protocol game.

Now we are actively continuing to add and create new models, not only of soldiers, but also of equipment. We are also testing different types of terrain, textures, and plants, which will be unique to many maps and give players a new experience in each game.

There are minor problems in the development, such as the design of the interface inside the game. There are a lot of options, and so far they do not meet the requirements of beauty and convenience for players. We really hope that in the near future we will share the result of how we got out of the situation.

Earlier, we wrote that we were experiencing some problems with the design of the Invasion Protocol interface. Let's tell you why this is important.
