Covert Web-to-App Tracking via Localhost on Android

These native Android apps receive browsers' metadata, cookies and commands from the Meta Pixel and Yandex Metrica noscripts embedded on thousands of web sites. These JavaScripts load on users' mobile browsers and silently connect with native apps running on the same device through localhost sockets. As native apps access programatically device identifiers like the Android Advertising ID (AAID) or handle user identities as in the case of Meta apps, this method effectively allows these organizations to link mobile browsing sessions and web cookies to user identities, hence de-anonymizing users' visiting sites embedding their noscripts.

This web-to-app ID sharing method bypasses typical privacy protections such as clearing cookies, Incognito Mode and Android's permission controls. Worse, it opens the door for potentially malicious apps eavesdropping on users’ web activity.

Se ci pensate, il centrismo non solo promuove il fascismo ma accetta anche anarchie di ogni tipo — se nessuno alza mai un dito, una nazione collasserà su sé stessa, lasciando tutti quanti a loro stessi

If it works, it's not AI: a commercial look at AI startups (1999)

We use so much AI in production every day but nobody notices because as soon as a technology becomes useful, we stop calling it AI. Then it’s suddenly “just face recognition” or “just product recommendations” or “just [plane] autopilot” or “just adaptive cruise control” etc

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI_effect

[...] every time somebody figured out how to make a computer do something—play good checkers, solve simple but relatively informal problems—there was a chorus of critics to say, 'that's not thinking'."

Researcher Rodney Brooks complains: "Every time we figure out a piece of it, it stops being magical; we say, 'Oh, that's just a computation.'".

A related effect has been noted in the history of animal cognition and in consciousness studies, where every time a capacity formerly thought of as uniquely human is discovered in animals (e.g. the ability to make tools, or passing the mirror test), the overall importance of that capacity is deprecated.
Personalmente non odio tutte le AI, ciò includerebbe anche comuni algoritmi discreti come il path-tracing dei nemici.

Odio invece le reti ""neurali"", algoritmi puramente probabilistici e incontrollabili
