The last two bullets, in my opinion, might be loopholes. Here’s why.

From the above link: “the FDA amended the EUA for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to allow for a booster dose in certain populations such as health care workers, teachers and day care staff, grocery workers and those in homeless shelters or prisons, among others,” said Acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock, M.D.”

Even though the FDA had a 16-3 vote against the booster shot for general population, it is authorized for that same population if you fit in those career fields or are at risk for severe Covid-19.

Here’s who the CDC says it at higher risk for Covid-19 and therefore eligible for the booster shot:

Six months. Only six months after completing the two-dose series can someone get a booster. The flu shot isn’t even that short of an interval.

In other words, the product failed.

If a product failed the first time, why would it work the second?

This’ll be complicated to track and necessitate a robust system especially if mandates are enforced. A paper card will no longer suffice soon enough. I had my doubts about a vaccine passport, however the logistical nightmare of boosters and mandates have created a problem the technology vaccine passports are designed to solve. How far are you willing for this to go?

The CDC gave their guidance on boosters today:

I’m not sure what the legal difference is from “should” and “may” equate to considering vaccine mandates. The CDC FAQ page is full of unanswered questions.

If there are three employees that work at a company with a mandate and each received a different vaccine, is the one that received Pfizer obligated to get a booster with this new guidance? Does it make sense that the CDC knows Moderna and J&J recipients need a booster too but they can’t recommend it because the FDA hasn’t authorized it yet? This is why mandates should have never been set in the first place. The data and guidelines are shifting sands and aren’t logically sound.
