List of Germanic Countries

Here is the list of Germanic countries, the countries of the Germanic race, also known as the Nordic race. Since the term “Nordic countries” is commonly used to refer to Scandinavia, Finland, and Iceland only, I shall use the term “Germanic countries” instead.

Fully Germanic: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Flanders

Germanic and Celtic: England, Scotland, Iceland, Wallonia

Germanic and Alpine: Germany, Austria, Luxembourg

Germanic and East Baltic: Finland, Estonia

Germanic, Alpine, and Mediterranean: Switzerland

Germanic, Celtic, Alpine, and Mediterranean: France

Notes:

- Iceland has a very Germanic culture and its language is closest to Old Norse. However, the settlement of Iceland involved a significant number of Celts from Scotland and Ireland, making Iceland less Germanic than the Scandinavians (Swedes, Norwegians, and Danes).

- Scotland is known for its Celtic heritage but it is in fact significantly Germanic as well due to Scandinavian settlement during the Viking Age.

- France is the only country in Western Europe to have significant elements of all Western European racial groups: Germanic, Celtic, Alpine, and Mediterranean. I consider France the quintessential Western European country because of this.

"White" countries according to the US census

On Terminology

I prefer the term “European” or “Aryan” as names for the race, rather than the term “White”.

The term “White” is too vague and unscientific. It does not have a clear definition, let alone a clear scientific definition. For example, in the United States, the “White” category in the US Census counts jews, North Africans, Middle Easterners, and Hispanics as “White”, which is a very poor act of categorisation because these groups are very different racially from the European race. As a result, official statistics can say that a significant percentage of the undergraduate student bodies of the Ivy League Universities are still “White”, when in fact many of these “Whites” are actually jews, and others are North Africans, Middle Easterners, and Hispanics.

Another problem with the term “White” is that it implies that race is based on skin colour, which gives an incomplete representation on racial differences. Yes, skin tone, pigmentation, and melanin production are related to race, but the appearance of one’s skin is just one aspect of racial differences. East Asians, for example, also have light skin, but they are still a different race from Europeans. Race is more than skin deep.

A more accurate term for the race is “European”, as the indigenous peoples of Europe make up much of the entirety of this race. The term “Aryan” would be even more broad, for it would also include related peoples of Eurasia, such as the Persians and Indo-Aryans, but many of these peoples have mixed with Arabs and Dravidians, respectively, making them less related. There is also Aryan blood in Central Asia, including the western portions of China, and some of these peoples have European appearances.

Thus, the term “European” would be the most accurate, strict, and scientific term for the race, while the term “Aryan” would likewise be an accurate and scientific term for the race, but a less strict and more inclusive one.
