🔻There are 33 letters in the Russian Alphabet: 10 vowels, 21 consonants, and 2 signs (ь, ъ).

🔻Russian is an Eastern Slavonic language closely related to Ukrainian and Belorussian with about 277 million speakers in Russia and 30 other countries.

🔻With the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union on 1 January 2007, Cyrillic became the third official noscript of the European Union, following the Latin and Greek alphabets.

🔻The Early Cyrillic alphabet was developed during the 9th century AD in order to translate the Bible and other Christian texts into the Slavic languages by the two Byzantine brothers Cyril and Methodius, who had previously created the Glagolitic noscript.

🔻The noscript was named in honour of Saint Cyril.
