"Why did you come illegally into Israel?" That was the opening question to Dimitris Plionis after his ship was hijacked in international waters. His response: "You abducted us."
In this second part of his interview, Dimitris recounts the brutal reality after the interception:
Forced Signature: Activists were pressured to sign Hebrew statements declaring they entered Israel "illegally." Dimitris refused, knowing the truth.
Brutality and Blackmail: Activists were moved to Be'er Sheva jail, and later, beaten by police at Ben Gurion Airport.
Justice Denied: The attempt to pursue justice in the International Criminal Court (ICC) was systematically blocked. The prosecutor, who later admitted to being blackmailed by Israel, stopped the judicial action on technicalities.
This historical account is a chilling precedent for what the Global Sumud Flotilla activists are enduring right now. The pattern of piracy and impunity is clear.

Marinette, the last remaining boat of the Global Sumud Flotilla, was intercepted at 10:29am local time, approximately 42.5 nautical miles from Gaza.
Over 38 hours, Israeli occupation naval forces illegally intercepted all 42 of our vessels—each carrying humanitarian aid, volunteers, and the determination to break Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza.
Marinette sailed forward with the spirit of sumud—steadfastness—even after seeing the fate of 41 boats before her.
But this is not the end of our mission. Our determination to confront Israel’s atrocities and stand with the Palestinian people remains unshaken.
As people rise up in cities worldwide to demand an end to these horrors and to take a stand for humanity, we rise together with one voice:
We will not stop until the genocide ends. We will not stop until Palestine is free.

🟢 In his first appearance since the assassination attempt on him in Doha, Qatar, the head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip and leader of the negotiating delegation—Khalil Al-Hayya—speaks publicly.
In the Doha strike, his son Hammam, his office manager Jihad Labad, and several members of his office staff were martyred.
Dr. Al-Hayya says:
In the Doha strike, his son Hammam, his office manager Jihad Labad, and several members of his office staff were martyred.
Dr. Al-Hayya says:
Today we live in the shadow of pain and in the shadow of pride and dignity.
Pain from losing thousands of our people: women, children, elders, fighters, and our people in general. And Allah honored us that among them were our sons, our grandsons, our brothers, and our relatives. All the children of our people are like sons, brothers, grandsons, and relatives to us.
We belong to this large family, the family of the Palestinian people, especially the people of Gaza, who today represent the nation through their struggle, patience, and sacrifices, sacrifices that are rare throughout history. And in our Palestinian cause, over 100 years.
Today, Gaza represents the nation with what it offers and sacrifices itself, and the best thing it sacrifices is itself.
We ask God Almighty to grant patience, solace, and tranquility upon our people, and to defeat our enemy and turn its schemes back against it, by the will of God Almighty.
Brothers, in these moments, we feel nothing but God's divine favor. But, by God, brothers, despite the pain of separation from my son, my escort, my office manager, and the young men around me—despite this pain, which is natural pain. It comes to a human being; we are neither iron nor stone. We cry for our martyrs, we cry for our families, we cry for our brothers.
But believe me, brothers, during the entire past period, what I see regarding our people made me forget. What I see every day of killing, tyranny, assassinations, and destruction in Gaza, these scenes make me forget the pain of losing my loved ones, my brothers, and others.
No, I feel that all of them are like my own children. I do not differentiate between my son Hammam, and Jihad, and Abdullah, and Ahmed, and Moamen. I do not differentiate between them and any Palestinian child in Gaza killed by the occupation.
Because all of them died due to the crime of the occupation. We ask God Almighty that their blood be a path to victory, a path to Al-Quds, a path to the humiliation and rejection of this occupation, by the will of Allah Almighty, and a path to the glory and victory of the nation.
