Cevizli Pekmez Sucuğu
📍 Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye 🇹🇷

Dishes With Walnuts: http://tasteatlas.com/best-rated-dishes-with-walnuts

A traditional sweet from Kahramanmaraş, made by threading walnuts on a string and repeatedly dipping them into a thick mixture of grape molasses and flour until a chewy coating forms. While known locally as cevizli pekmez sucuğu, similar walnut-and-molasses sweets exist across the Caucasus — in Georgia as churchkhela, in Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Greece in regional variations. In Türkiye, it is especially popular in Anatolia during winter months, valued as both a dessert and a natural energy snack.

Did you know?

When you see a person laugh, especially a baby, mirror neurons fire and prompt you to imitate that action yourself.

This is why laughter is contagious. Mirror neurons are also the ones that prompt you to show empathy toward someone.

Did you know that in Romania, trucks loaded with beehives are rented out to flower growers?
These massive rigs become mobile "bee hotels," buzzing with thousands of bees that pollinate fields of flowers and crops! 🚚🐝
This incredible practice, called migratory beekeeping, boosts harvests and keeps Romania’s fields blooming.

Asteroid hyalosis was first described in medical literature in the early 1900s. It was named by the American ophthalmologist Ernst Fuchs in 1900.

He characterized the condition and its distinctive appearance of small, star-like, or asteroid-shaped calcium deposits within the eye's vitreous humor.

Since its initial denoscription, medical understanding of asteroid hyalosis has advanced, and it is now recognized as a relatively benign condition that is often found incidentally during routine eye examinations. It's important to note that the exact cause of asteroid hyalosis is still not fully understood, but it is generally considered a benign age-related change in the eye.
