Here's an update on my post from last week, my sweet potato slip experiment.
So this is just under 6 weeks growth, placing an organic store bought sweet potato in a container half way buried with soil. There are a couple different methods to grow these sweet potato "slips" but this is what you need to do to be able to grow and produce sweet potatoes. Once those sprouts are 6" or bigger, i will then cut them & place them in a glass of water for about 3 weeks until they root. At that point they can be planted outside in a garden bed or container pot.
I started this a bit late but i'll see what i can get before this year's first frost.

These are "slips" i did over the winter from a conventional store bought sweet potato. Dunno why i even still have them lol as they have been in the glass of water for way too long.
I could've planted these & really still can but i'm not gonna waste garden space etc on them as i want to start my crop from organic for optimal nutrition
