Remember folks Canada intends to introduce new legislation to make new authorities for FINTRAC. It appears likely to pass.
Yes the power given to FINTRAC is imo here to stay. So essentially the emergency act was nothing more then an audit of Canadian citizens by government and unfortunately abuse of government.
The emergency powers given to FINTRAC over finances and banks appear to be permanent. The most important new power will remain as a means to more easily introduce CBDC's and total financial surveillance control over the public.
