The Assassin

A fantastic Easter egg on this show if anyone has seen it on prime. Only our very own Charles Widmore offering up a glass of MacCutcheon

Season 2 ep 20… Michael.

INCLUDES SPOILERS

I’m a first time watcher of Lost & I just finished s2 ep 20. My jaw was wide open at the end of that episode.

I was never the hugest fan of Michael but I do think he was slightly misunderstood & his backstory was pretty unfortunate & not his fault. However, him killing Ana & Libby was so far fetched and so out of character.

Yeah sure, he was doing it to get Walt back but surely there was another way around it without having to kill them. The way he was so ruthless you’d think they’d been stuck on that island for years.. it had only been around 2 months at that point, surely he would not have become a savage murder JUST to get Walt back. He basically put his own needs before anybody else, and killed somebody else’s daughters just for his son. I find that very selfish.

Jack being sent on dangerous missions

I'm a first time watcher and I can't believe how many times Jack goes on insanely dangerous missions. He is their ONLY doctor and yet I haven't seen even one person make the point that if he dies they are mostly screwed. I understand Jack is stubborn and likes to demand he be included on missions, but can't he see that him staying ALIVE is basically his most valuable asset to everyone?? He's not even trying to train someone in case he does die. How has nobody mentioned this to him, it's driving me nuts!

EDIT: I just started Season 3, I'm on episode 1!

Titus Welliver

We were absolutely robbed of seeing more of Titus Welliver as MiB. I understand it serves the narrative and theming more to have MiB be the form of Locke for season 6, but man Titus Welliver is too great of an actor to only have what amounts to just a few appearances. In the few scenes we get of him, he really is perfect as MiB. Terry O’quinn plays MiB amazingly, but we can’t help but see him as Locke. It would have been amazing to see more of Titus Welliver, he really embodies that character in his own way and it’s such a shame we couldn’t see more

Is there a sequel?

I’ve seen on a couple different post about how Walt goes back to the island to protect it and also free the souls that were trapped.

Time paradox question?

Something I’ve been wondering for a while is how MIB knew so much of what was going to happen that he was able to successfully trick Ben through Locke into doing his bidding. He’s obviously not omniscient, because he tried and failed many times before to get others to kill Jacob for him (such as Richard when he first arrived to the island) so I’m wondering how he knew when and where to be to pull the bullet out of Locke’s leg when he was time jumping? I know MIB has access to the persons memories when he takes on their form, but I don’t even know that real Locke knew when he was when he time jumped right after being shot by Ethan. It was dark and he was only there long enough for Richard to remove the bullet. How did MIB know so much? There are probably other examples I can’t remember right now. I’m not even sure I believe Jacob was omniscient because sure he knew when and where to be for his candidates entire lives but he either didn’t know or didn’t care when MIB would successfully kill him finally, he apparently was still “hoping he was wrong about [Ben] up until the moment the knife went into his chest” according to Miles. Thoughts?

*edited to say, is the MIB/Locke memories part a time paradox because he remembered through Locke’s memories once he gained access to them when he took on his appearance or did MIB already know, like which came first if that makes any sense?

Lost Easter egg

So, I'm watching Dexter: New Blood, and in episode 2 I'm sure I've found a subtle but brilliant Lost reference. ⚠️ Spoiler Alert for Dexter New Blood... ⚠️

Dexter and his son are in his cabin chatting and a small musical piece plays which I think is Parting Words by the legendary Michael Giacchino.

Then Dexter ends that part of the conversation by saying "I got Lost". In the next scene outsider his Cabin, who arrives in a 4x4? None other than Clancy Brown, aka Calvin!

I was too excited by this and took a video of my TV but wasn't sure if I would be allowed to upload it or not?

But still, I love things like this that remind me of Lost :-)

Still confused

THIS IS NOW RESOLVED: But feel free to read my confusion below in the comments and laugh

I have rewatched this show so many times and no matter how many times I watch I still don’t understand it 😂

Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy watching but one day I’d love to fully understand what’s going on.

My understanding is there is

their timeline of coming to the island

the flashbacks showing their life before and the history of the island

Flash forwards seeing the 6 get off the island and being dragged back

But where I get lost is the flash sideways….

If the flash sideways is a purgatory before they go on to heaven together at the church, then how does that not mean they died at the explosion of the island? Isn’t the whole point of purgatory that it’s like your soul is trapped there after death? So they did die? So when everyone is losing their minds at people saying they aren’t already dead when they are in the church, surely they are? And their second deaths in purgatory/flash sideways are their souls dying?

But then that means the flash sideways can’t be happening at the same time as them being on the island as the explosion happens at the end of the island timeline….

The more I try to explain what i understand the more I realise I am #lost

Help? 😂 I don’t need to understand all the main themes of like light and dark and good and bad and being alone and finding your people or WHY they go to the flash sideways etc etc, I purely want to understand the timelines and WHEN they happen. If anyone has seeen any good diagrams maybe that would help? 😂😂😂

Sorry you must get bored of these posts!
Please note be no means am I saying anything bad about lost, my rewatches show I love it but I just am still confused

Edit: can I just point out that all of the commenters are saying something different about when flash sideways starts, maybe that’s how I’ve ended up confused. Everyone seems to interpret it different so it’s impossible to get an answer that I can understand…

Edit 2: maybe I’m just too dumb to understand. My brain can’t work with ‘there is no time’ or ‘exists outside of time and space’ because my head wants to know when things are happening. So sorry for not being able to understand 😭 thanks for trying

Josh Holloway still doesn’t get the ending post from Fan Expo Chicago

"I always thought it was purgatory, but then the parallel life thing [...\] And then I was like, ‘Oh…okay.’ So, I’m not really clear, but I bought it. I did have a cabin in the mountains of Colorado I offered the writers in case people were going after them." - Holloway

What would be a cool, havoc wreaking animal to have had on the island?

We only had polar bears, fish and Vincent iirc. What would have been another fun animal to throw into the mix?
