My theory for why people who understand the ending still don’t like it.
So my wife and I both had watched Lost when we were kids, but as adults, went through and rewatched it and fell in love with it. We referred a few people we know to the show (who we thought would like it) but when it came to the ending, none of them did.
Honestly, I found that really confusing, because even though they didn’t fall into the “So ThEy WeRE DeAD tHE WhOLE TiME” camp, they still didn’t like it. But as more time as passed and we’ve thought about the show and our own rewatching of it again for the second rewatch, I any help but think it’s because of the message. The message of letting go.
The people we referred the show to all came from manipulative, abusive, upbringings. And in reality, they haven’t let go themselves. There’s a lot of clear still wanting their parents approval, and love (none if them are in therapy trying to move past anything) and I can’t help but feel that their own lack of ability of letting go and moving on. That watching the show, come to this conclusion of all the characters letting go and moving past things, was something they couldn’t just connect with, but was in some ways offensive to them. That it might have confronted them with their own problems.
Now I could be totally off base with this theory. But I’m honestly just curious if anyone has had a similar experience or observation? Or even what anyone else thinks of this theory since I have no one else to talk to about it without delving into the personal lives of our friends lol.

Is it ever explained what secret John told Walt?
in S1 E2 after John’s iconic “one light and one dark” line, he asks if he can ask a secret to Walt. is it ever revealed what this secret is? im on S4 E5, (best episode ever) and please no spoilers for anything past that.

Just went down a rabbit hole “The light doesn’t scatter quite right”
Forgot about this Faraday line from Confirmed Dead. It’s kind of a throwaway line that you kind of chalk up to Daniel’s character being introduced as a little…eccentric.
I googled “light scattering” which led me to James Clerk Maxwell who from Wikipedia: was a Scottish physicist/mathematician responsible for the classical theory of electromagnetic radiation, which was the first theory to describe electricity, magnetism and light as different manifestations of the same phenomenon…building upon the earlier hypothesis advanced by Faraday.
Which reminded me that in the alternate reality game released ahead of season 4, Find 815, the nefarious company was called the Maxwell Group. For those who don’t know, there was a ton of bonus material like these games released throughout the run of the show to keep us all busy with extra puzzles. Gotta love Lost.

Ben is growing on me
I hated that little bug eyed weirdo for so long but now I just find him hilarious. The things he says are so out of pocket. And just no remorse for killing people when they are in his way even just a little bit. Like you’re inconveniencing me a little bit? bam your dead byeeee

First re-watch since it originally aired
I’m doing it! Finally doing a re-watch. This is the show, my show, the one I wish I could forget and watch new. I’m 8 episodes in and it’s amazing. I missed this show so much.

Season 6 Episode 1
Tagged as spoiler - first time watcher, just started the final season and on the first episode. Just a few minutes in and I’m so emotional about Desmond and Jack meeting for the first time, I can’t explain what this scene does to me?? And sick to my stomach about Juliet. I can’t imagine watching it when it came out. 🥹 Can we talk about how SAD the whole situation just is? 😭
