S3 EP20, why doesn't Richard tell lock or Ben?
1. In S3E20, Locke asks Ben in front of the others including Richard and Ben to take him to Jacob. If Richard is the only one actually seeing and hearing Jacob, why doesn't he oust Ben as a fake or tell Locke that Ben will take him to a fake trip?
2. When Ben asks John in the cabin if he is seeing Jacob or acting like he is talking to Jacob, is he simply lying or trying to manipulate him?
3. Furthermore, how is Ben leading everyone and telling everyone he communicate with Jacob with Richard being around and knowing this is not the case?
4. When Richard talks with Jacob, doesn't Jacob tell him that Ben is not actually in contact with him (Jacob)?
5. Why isn't Ben shocked by hearing "help me" and seeing the Cabin shake and all that since her never had any experience like that before?

Question about Eloise Hawking
First off -- I'm a superfan as many of you are, and I like to think I "get" much of the lore and mechanics of the show. I fully understand "whatever happened...happened" and the unavoidable path of time and and destined events.
One detail jumped out to me during a recent rewatch, though --
In S3, "Flashes Before Your Eyes," we get our first glimpse of Desmond's mind going back in time, to England 1996. He obviously knows what happened around that time -- he didn't buy the ring, which lead to his eventual split with Penny -- something that's mentally plagued him since, so he decides he's going to do things differently.
We are then treated to a good deal of exposition from Eloise Hawking, where she explains some of the "rules" of time and the impact that someone jumping between eras can or can't have.
She notes the red shoes guy, which suggests she's already lived that -- and further, her "you don't buy the ring" and her knowledge that Desmond must eventually go to the island says to me that she is ALSO "visiting" her past self from some future point, and is aware that Desmond is as well.
How can this be? Is this something she can do at will, or does she get "stranded" at some point in the future, and is thus permanently in her "past" and able to interact with and guide Desmond, etc? Her knowledge of Daniel's invariable fate makes perfect sense to me because that happened in her past, so she remembers it -- but how does 1996 Eloise know the red shoes guy will die? Who Desmond is and what he actually did the first time he lived that time? That he will eventually end up on the island and set off a chain of events that will bring O813 and the candidates to the island?

Cobtroversial opinions
I’ll be straightforward here, feel free to share your own unpopular opinions and disagree with mine as well.
-Season 5 isn’t the best season, but it’s definitely the best written.
-Jack during seasons 3–5 was annoying.
-Overall, the secondary characters are better than the main ones.
-Hurley is unnecessary at times.
-Juliet is a top 5 character.
-Desmond > Locke.
-Kate is the worst character in every sense.
-Eloise Hawking is a heroine.
-Daniel Faraday was the most tragic character.
-Jacob is a selfish villain.
-Boone could have been great if he had stayed alive.
-“Live Together, Die Alone – Part II” is a top 3 episode.
-The end is perfect.

Among Us
Okay okay, random I know, but has anyone ever thought about how the music from the game Among Us feel straight out of Lost? I’ve been rewatching the show and I can’t stop thinking about the similarities 😅 Am I the only one?

Any theories about how young Ellie came to be on the island?
She's a pivotal character, playing crucial roles for several characters and storylines. She's linked to the island's history, the Others, major characters, events and even a location. She also fulfills similar narrative functions as Richard -providing information, linking the outside world and helping people on and off the island-, yet they never went deeper to give us more info. Didn't think about it til now tbh.

sarah and jack unpopular opinion
I am currently rewatching this on Netflix & I dont know if its because I am older or what, but when I was younger, I always thought Sarah was awful, but looking back, I actually dont hate her as much as I did. Jack was an awful partner, & was lusting after someone else. He was also obsessive yet emotionally distant & expected too much of her. Idk, I kind of see why she did what she did, as much as I dont agree with cheating.

why “…In Translation” is my favorite LOST episode
so I’ve been judged a lot for this opinion…so I’m doing this.
as a Korean American, I first saw Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) and wanted to LOVE him and Sun (Yunjin Kim). But…he was just a walking stereotype. Xenophobic, traditional, abusive, and his wife was no better. Sun was also a stereotype, one of a timid Asian woman. I hated that the show did this. Then “…in Translation” came around - the first and only Jin-centric episode. I loved this. It shows how there IS complexity to one of like five ethnic castaways, it’s a rich and emotional depiction of the tragic life of Jin-Soo Kwon. It shows his struggles, working for Sun’s father and not being able to communicate with his fellow survivors (like me and my relatives, save the few that speak English). I love Jin because he changed Asian-Americans in Western television in one episode.

Unofficial Lost songs
What are some songs that seem like they could be about Lost even if they're not?
I have 2: Spoon "The Mystery Zone" with lines like "you weren't there but you were" and "times we met, before we met." And Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Gold Lion" ("gold lion's gonna tell me where the light is")

Ben Silver tongue
Watching through the whole series it is hilarious how Ben keeps getting into all sorts of troubles only to then talk himself right out of it.
Michael Emerson was amazing in his portrayal of how devious manipulative Ben can be to make it more believable, still after a few instances it just became cliche and tedious to watch him do the most outrageous things over and over again, getting into the most dire situations, and still every time end up scot free and come out on top, somehow.
While Ben is instrumental to this shows over arching storyline, would have been nice if the writers were a bit more creative with the plots, so it doesn't come across like Ben has some sort of supernatural super human persuasive power.

Question about Claire and flash sideways
So first time we see Claire in the flash sideways, she gets hijacked in the taxi with Kate and later on gives birth to Aaron. But on a later episode, we see that she's still pregnant and got to meet Jack.
I'm confused. Do they have their own versions of the flash sideways? Or am I missing something ? Thanks in advance.
