Starting The Series Again
I have tried to watch lost five times in the last thirteen years-- It's been probably even longer than that actually. I grew up with my family watching it pretty much every night until it was over. My last rewatch I got about halfway through season one. The time before that I have know idea. all I remember is >!something about a flood or whatever idk !<But this time I'm hoping to get through the whole thing. Fifth times the charm i guess lol
My current comments are genuinely pure confusion. I still don't understand this show or the island they're on but hopefully i will soon

Why did Kate's toy plane end up in a safe deposit box?
This doesn't really make sense to me, it feels like such poor and contrived writing. When Kate accidentally got her childhood boyfriend killed she ran away and the plane was left behind in his car.
Some time later it wound up in a safe deposit box as if it was something precious. Why the hell would that happen?
Edit: As many comments pointed out, the Marshal put it there to taunt Kate or lure her in. Make what you want out of it, it still doesn't make sense that he'd figure it had so much meaning to her, and that putting it in a vault would achieve anything

Watching for the first time.
I'm on S3E12 so far. I've really loved what I've seen and all the twists! Dharma and their collection of bunkers makes me think of Vault Tech from Fallout. I love the cast of characters...except one. Kate. I just can't stand her. The only person worse was Ana Lucia. Don't get me wrong. They did a great job at delving into the humanity of each character and showing their tragedies and their good sides, but I really can't stand Kate. I was curious how others felt.or how she was perceived when the shiw first came out for those that watched it as it aired.

Do you guys ever wonder about the media and public reaction to the Ajira plane going missing?
I feel like this is one of the only loose ends the writers left untied. Did the disappearance of the famous Oceanic Six on yet another plane not spike worldwide curiosity?
And when Kate, Sawyer and Claire returned, how did they cover it up? The Ajira plane randomly reappearing after weeks surely would’ve sparked worldwide discourse. Kate was only one of the grown up Oceanic Six that reappeared, so she must’ve been under tons of media attention considering she was very well known because of her court case too.

I just finished Lost.
If anyone remembers, I wrote the post about not enjoying Michael’s character a few weeks ago that blew up and I have to say I just finished the show for the first time.
8.5/10
It was one of the more enjoyable shows that I’ve seen and something about it was extremely emotional throughout. I don’t really understand the ending fully and there were somethings I defintely would’ve omitted, changed, or added to make it a 10.0 but I think for how great the overall premise and delivery of the show was done it gets that rating.
Lost reminds a little bit of Attack on Titan for the non -linear story telling in an the island survival story. Although not to take anything away from this show, I think Jack, James, John, Desmond, and Jacob were all my favorite characters as well as Ben Linus being an unexpected standout in my opinion. It all concluded amazingly.

Song i dowloaded back in 2019 from a play store app
Hello, I've been looking for a song I once downloaded on my old Samsung tablet for several years. In 2019 I was looking for apps where you could download music and one caught my eye. It was a kind of sound library that you could download. In this library 3/4 of the songs were the kind of music you usually found in children's YouTube videos, happy music typical of those you found at the time. But one song in particular caught my attention, this music was called "Aurora". The style of the music had completely nothing to do with the rest of the songs. It was a poor quality 80s-90s rock song. The music contained a guitar that played the same melody throughout the song, a deep voice a bit like Statues in Motion, a drummer who played especially during the instrumental and a synth that played the same notes throughout the song. The song felt like a demo and didn't sound finished, I've been looking for it for 4 years since I had to delete it due to lack of space on the device. Today I still don't know if I'll ever be able to find it again and listen to it again

After finishing the series, I let go of so many things, yet one stuck with me

>!And it was the death of John Locke. The beloved believer of the island and one of the best TV deuteragonist. !<
>!Yeah, that is right, out of all the deaths in the series, I can probably say this is the one death I had a hard time dealing with. But was it really Locke dying that made me sad? The answer is no. !<
>!Of course, Locke dying was fairly sad, because he was choked with the very rope he almost hanged himself with. But his death was beyond that. The idea of John Locke dying is what's truly sad. !<
>!MIB explaining it to Linus is what makes this death really touching. "Do you want to know what he was thinking while you, choked the life out of him, Benjamin? What the last thought ran through his head was? 'I don't understand' "!<
>!The sadness come from the confusion Locke suffered whilst dying. He did not understand why he was going to die. Ever since he came to the island, he had the idea of being special. Being chosen and there he was getting his life chocked out of him. It represented betrayal of meaning, not just the loss of life. Most “sad” film deaths are manipulations of attachment; the sinking ship, the unjust execution, the sacrificial hero. You already know what you’re supposed to feel, so it becomes predictable.!<
>!Locke’s arc was about faith: his conviction that the island gave him purpose, that his suffering was redeemed by destiny. His end, however, obliterates that narrative. It’s not just that he dies, it’s that he dies confused, stripped of the very framework that justified his existence. “I don’t understand” is worse than tragedy. It’s purely humiliation.!<
>!That's what really shocked me to my core. It forced me to recognize how fragile meaning is. If even the “believer” can die uncomprehending, then belief itself is vulnerable. And that’s a deeper cruelty than any cinematic tear-jerker.!<
