Aaron, Claire and Kate

how do you guys think Claire and Kate handled Aaron’s custody post- island? do you think they would’ve taught aaron who claire really was in spite of her mental state?

Smokey’s Original Plans

Showing my new girlfriend Lost for the first time. Just got through season one. I love seeing her fresh excitement for my favourite show. After watching Exodus Part 2 again I got thinking, this is the first episode we see the monster to be a cloud of smoke, it’s also the same episode It’s described to be “a security system protecting the island”. Also its noises in this episode are some of the most prominently mechanical and foot stompy. Everyone’s always debated what the original design was, but I find it interesting they knew it would look like a cloud of smoke at the same time they were giving it foot stomping sounds and a “security system” idea. What’re people’s thoughts on this?

Which Dharma station is the most interesting/mysterious to you?

Something about the Arrow for me, feels one of the most unknown and curious stations.

What were Kate and Sawyer building on Hydra Island

In the first few episodes of season 3, on Hydra island while Jack was imprisoned indoor, Kate and Sawyer were kept in bird cages (where did they go to bathroom btw or shower?) and ordered to do manual labor under harsh supervision of the Others.

So the story is that the others had them do this as a form of psychological torment and manipulation. Still was there any point to the work Kate and Sawyer were doing? It seemed that the others were building something big, and there were other regular Others members working that field as well. But then nothing really came out of this. Was this an abandoned plot line perhaps?

Flash Sideways

So in the Flash sideways where the plane didn’t crash and we saw all their lives, were they all just dead and it was purgatory? I just watched the series for the 3rd time and I still am baffled.

Was Horace in Locke's dream the MIB?

In Cabin Fever, he's been dead 12 years and MIB knows about the cabin and presumably the DI bodies in the mass grave as well. On the other hand, Locke has dreams and visions involving Losties (Boone, etc) who are unlikely to be the MIB. Since MIB seems relatively shortsighted and typically manipulates people for a specific, imminent purpose (Jack finding fresh water, trying to poke Jacob), I feel like he's probably not appearing as Horace but I'm curious on theories.

Shannon - Inhaler = Dead Shannon

Bit of a specific throwback - Do you think that the show got across to the audience the severity of Shannon not having her inhaler? As in, that there was a very real possibility that she could have died?

If you check the noscript, you'll see that, originally, it was going to be two socks: a husband and wife (Richard and Marybeth), not Boone and Shannon at the centre of the story.

Maggie Grace's acting was fantastic (IMO) throughout her struggling scenes but through all of my rewatches through all of my years, I feel like the show didn't appropriately telegraph that there was a real possibility that Shannon could die - making Jack's leap to being so okay with torturing Sawyer seem a bit out of the blue. (Of course, if his character thinks she could die, that could take him to that extreme place - but my thought here is that the show didn't get that across as much as it could have.)

Unless you know or have known someone to suffer from severe asthma, perhaps the severity doesn't come across? Personally, I had asthma inhalers as a kid but had never had an attack like Shannon's. And in movies and television, asthma inhalers are usually associated with nerds who are nervous or who ran out of breath after a short jog, so maybe I didn't process what was happening to her in the same way that another viewer with different knowledge/experiences to me would.

Since learning about Richard and Marybeth, I flip-flop between thinking that the sudden emergence of a disposable character like a sock might have given the inhaler story more urgency, myself.

Anyway, just my thought of the day. A nice light one - haha.

ethan

Why would Ben send the only surgeon away on a dangerous undercover mission like the day after he finds out he has a deadly tumor and needs surgery??? And then he lets/tells him to stay undercover with the survivors after Goodwin and the 2 unamed others get killed by the surviors?? Theres so many other people who he could get to do that plus Ethan is probably the worst person to send if you want them to not raise suspicion as Ethan is the most dodgy looking guy on the whole island I reckon the survior group would've figured out he wasent on the plane even if Hurley didnt find the manifest he just looks that off putting

FTW; Loosing my interest

I never found interest in the show growing up but have found myself obsessed recently. It got to the point where i was watching it on my breaks and in every chance i got. However, while in season 5, it started to be all over the place. I loved that there was a coherent plot in the past seasons but as i'm approaching season 6, it's starting to feel like we're on a different universe, a different timeline.
