Hey, never done one of these before but what is the best episode for each character? Day One: Jack

Doing a rewatch of Lost, came up with an idea for a drinking game.

Every time Matthew Fox has to cry on the show, take a shot. I'd be freaking *hammerrrrred* or dead. I swear, every episode there's got to be somebody tearing up, but it's almost always Jack Shephard lol. Let the man rest!

These three MEN come to your door looking exactly like this. What do you do?

Why is Jack so easily-manipulated by women?

What's with this dude man? Any time a pretty woman bats her eyes at him, he's now remote-controlled by her. Whether it's his ex-wife (who he probably was never compatible with), that one patient's daughter, Kate, Ana Lucia, or Juliet, this man is ready to fall to his knees and be her noble servant and eventually gets his feelings hurt when they don't want the same thing he does. He was ready to beat the shit out of Sayid to protect Juliet who he KNEW wasn't some virtuous person. The hell is with him?

Favourite non verbal mannerisms of a character/actor on the show?

For example, i really like when Jack is in conversation with someone and he looks serious or like he's focused on the conversation, and the other person says something sarcastic or funny and he immediately grins and looks off in the distance for a brief moment. It looks very natural and I'm sure it is just Matthew Fox being Matthew Fox

I just finished lost season 3 I absolutely loved the ending of the season please tell me the rest of the show is this interesting without spoilers

It’s crazy because I almost dropped the show in the middle of season3 I hated the storylines I thought the writing dropped dramatically compared to season 1 and 2 but it picked up near the end and I loved every bit of it

Did they actually reshoot parts of the pilot episode to add Nikki and Paulo to the crash scene?

John Locke

I’ve see the show through twice, 12 and 8 years ago respectively. I’m rewatching it now, about mid way through season 5.

The first two times I watched the show, I absolutely HATED John’s character. Couldn’t stand him, every time he showed up on screen/we got pieces of his backstory I would get so mad, I didn’t even feel a ton of sympathy for him when we did learn his backstory.

But now, I have so much empathy for him. I wouldn’t say I like him by any means, but I feel like I understand his character more and why he does the things he does. His life is actually heartbreaking. I’m not sure if it’s my own maturity, or just really being able to appreciate the writing this time around. I’d love to hear others’ thoughts on his character/other characters you didn’t like the first time around, but might have come around to on rewatches!

What do you all think of the noscript card/intro?

I’ve heard some people say they love it and wouldn’t change it at all. My friends personally hate it though, and think that the sound at the beginning is to annoying and it doesn’t do anything to “introduce the episode”. I’m kinda in the middle, it gets the job done and sets part of the tone alright but it would’ve been interesting to see what they could’ve done with an extended noscript card or intro for every episode (what scenes would they include? What music would they use?).

What do you think? Would you change it, or do you think it’s already perfect?
