Danielle and Ben
I feel like Danielle could have done a better job in explaining how/why she knew Ben wasn’t who he said he was.

Jacob, a character that I like but am also infuriated by
I like that this mysterious island demi-god is really just a man with serious issues. He was mostly good but my god was this man is a nightmare of a manager.

LOST brings out the most empathetic side of me.
Appreciation post for this show that, through rewatches, makes me cry during every episode. And not just, you know, the most popular scenes, I mean every. single. interaction. between the main cast. I just grew so fond of 'em, really shows how good writing can be :)

Watching for the third time...
I'm still on season 1, but watching through for the third time, and I'm. loving it. I remember watching when it originally aired it, rushing home for every episode.
It's amazing how much you forget.... and how much you come to care about the characters. I don't think there's ever been another show like this, for me. The music is just incredible, too.
I don't know if this video has been posted before but I found this on YouTube, from the creators of Lost-found it pretty funny. Alternate endings.

Sayid name??
Don’t know if this is totally out of left field, but I was wondering if Sayid is related to Said the philosopher (Orientalism, postcolonial theory)? Doesn’t seem completely unlikely since sm characters are named after philosophers, but also they have different spellings and Said is a last name? Lmk if anyone has any thoughts on this!

Finished watching LOST last night and I feel empty
I first heard about LOST a few years ago from a random instagram post and it stayed in my watchlist for the longest time. I finally started it about 2-3 months back. I muted this sub to avoid spoilers, found the first-time watchers discussion threads and every time I finished an episode, I’d go read that episode’s thread. That honestly became part of the experience for me.
The pilot was AMAZING!! I don’t think I’d ever seen anything like that before. From there, I was completely hooked. The whole show felt like a masterpiece to me, even though I know a lot of people say they didn’t like the ending. Personally, I loved it!
I finished THE END last night and I was a complete sobbing mess. Jack in his final moments, lying in the bamboo forest with Vincent by his side… that scene had me ugly crying.
LOST was a part of my daily routine. Now that it’s over, I just feel this weird emptiness, like there’s a void inside of me. Easily one of the best shows of all time.

Man in Black deserved a better backstory
I know “Across the sea” gets a lot of criticism. I actually enjoyed the episode quite a bit. The only thing that really bothers me is that the final boss of the show, the man in black, who was built up as being the most evil thing in the world who was going to destroy the planet if he got free, was just revealed to be a guy who was being held hostage by Jacob.
Not once did he threaten to destroy the world. He just wanted to leave. I cannot understand why Carlton and Damon couldn’t come up with a better backstory especially when they had 6 seasons and these guys are absolute geniuses at backstories. I’m basing this on how good the characters are in lost.
