Whenever a show finishes, I see lazy mentions of Lost when they talk about bad endings. For me I thought it was a perfect ending so am happy when I see this.

Planned it all out to watch the finale tonight

So I saw Lost was leaving Netflix tonight and luckily I’ve been slowing watching it for over a year now and I was on season 6.

I planned it all out to watch the finale tonight and I gotta say it’s the perfect way to end my year. Really made me think about life and what I want going forward.

Sad it’s leaving Netflix and I’ll see it in another life brother.

Creating a new Lost podcast (Advice Needed)

Hey everyone! I’m a very long-time, diehard Lost fan and am about to create a new Lost podcast in 2026 with my girlfriend. It was her first time watching the show, and we recorded some of her reactions as we went, but are now going to do a more complete podcast.

I’m wondering if people generally prefer a full-on spoiler discussion podcast, or a spoiler-free one? Which one do you think there would be a bigger audience for? Any feedback would be appreciated!

Sawyer and Charlie are making me mad and this is just a rant

just finished s2e13 and I dislike Charlie's character a lot, he is so immature and only thinks about himself, i wish he would go away. like seriously attacking Sun just to get petty revenge on Locke?? and teaming up w Sawyer. like does this man ever reflect on his actions. and then don't even get me started on Sawyer, im waiting for the day Kate's grows better standards and stops batting for him. I kinda resent that sawyer is mainish character cus his storyline and personality pmo so much but oh well i understand why he's there for some anti hero action. but they're both parasites at this point and im getting antsy waiting for any character development. also unrelated but Shannon and Sayid's relationship was kind of so random and forced to me, and I wish sayid would have a more leadership role at this point rather than just having previous scenes w just talking up Shannon and doing subplot tings, and then shannons death was so fustrating cus i felt like i was just getting to know her background and like her character more ugh. also shipping ana Lucia and jack, so waiting for that to happen !

Help me settle a debate

My dad seems to think that they actually were dead the whole time, and that’s why in the finale when they’re all getting their memories back they don’t remember anything from when they left the island. He says characters like Desmond and lepetius were also on 180 and they died at the beginning too. I told him everything that happened on the island happened and Jack dying was him seeing everyone he loved before going to the afterlife, but he won’t budge. Thoughts on the ending??

Did Miles know about the boar...

...in S5E2 because he can talk to the dead? Is he able to talk to dead animals? Is that why he was so confident that he would find something to eat?

Interpretations of the ending in 2010?

I was at my work Christmas party again and finally managed to speak to a distant colleague who initially told me, after I told her I was only on season 2, that everyone was dead the entire time. She was at that time on her third rewatch which I think is absurd.

Since then I of course watched the show, banded together a few of my fellow young colleagues (we’re all in our 20s and missed the original lost train), and it has become my favourite show.

I asked her why she thought everyone was dead the entire time and she gave the typical reasons, but also said basically everyone thought that at the time. And at the very least it was ambiguous.

Is that true? When my fellow colleagues and I finished, none of us had any doubt about the ending.

Gone from Netflix :(

I was watching lost, just started the 6th season and it went away from Netflix

Marvel + LOST

Doomsday is a version of Desmond in a compound keeping everything in order in the multiverse. The [Avengers/FF4/Spider-Man\] blew open the hatch.

My heart

Just finished my second time watching this show.

I finally understood the ending. The first time I watched I was completely wrecked emotionally, but still pretty confused.

This go around, I get it. And I’m even more emotionally wrecked!!!

My husband and son just brought me tissues and kept asking me what’s wrong as the church scene was playing. I’m like “I’m ok guys just give me two more minutes” 😂😂

This is by far..one of the BEST…shows I have ever watched. I’m a major tv person. And I just can’t even comprehend how good this show is. Wowowow.

Just needed to share my love and emotions. None of my friends or family will watch this show, I needed a shoulder to cry on.

Anyways, love you my fellow Losties.

Thoughts on Linus not entering?

I am just curious what people think about Ben not entering the church at the end. What do you think happens to him and why do you think he stayed back— unfinished business? I feel like he’s always got some little trick up his sleeve or something so I’m just curious

Also, do you think he will get to enter later on when he decides or that was his chance and now the “sideways” is gone taking him with it

Remember Jay And Jack?

Back when Lost was originally on the air, there was a great podcast that was hosted by Jay and Jack. I believe it was simply called The Lost Podcast.

I have vivid memories of watching the most recent episode of the show and then re-watching it from my DVR while I analyze framed by frame what was happening in the show. I would then call into the podcast that night with fan theories and they would release an episode the next day and included call in guests that had left a voicemail.

I was featured once or twice as one of those guests. Featured is probably an overstatement, more like they play a recording of my voicemail with my rambling fan theories.

I love this show. I love the community that I created and the excitement that it brought to television each week. It was something that my family and I bonded over every week and I certainly miss those days.

It might be time for a rewatch! :)

How can eko baptized claire along with Aaron if she didn't actually convert?

She clearly wasn't religious since she asked him about baptism and whether she can be with Aaron to afterlife together, but eko says that he'll simply baptized them both immediately to resolve that. But that would mean she has to actually convert but I didn't see any teaching of faith to her, he just poured the water immediately and that's it? Converting takes a lot of faith and time. Not sure what's the significance of the whole baptism stuff in general.

Just finished Lost a couple days ago, here’s my thoughts

‼️SPOILER WARNING‼️(obviously)

First of all, what a beautiful show. I mean really. I’ve let it marinate a couple of days before making this post and it’s safe to say I don’t think I’ll be watching anymore television for about a month as I need to let it sit with me even more. Seasons 5 and 6 are such underrated seasons of television. I don’t think they’re on par with seasons 1-3 but I still loved them. I think when people realize this was never a show about survival but a show about humanity and finding and understanding yourself, that’s when it becomes so much more. Gosh I have so much to say.

The arc Jack goes on in season 6 is PHENOMENAL. I loved his character already but everything after season 3 when he starts to question himself more and more is just brilliant character work. Until… he finally knows exactly who he is as he dies. The show writers definitely took a risk ending the show the way they did, specially talking about the church scene, but I don’t think it could’ve been more perfect. I’ve seen shows that take the easy ending and it’s enough to leave you satisfied but can never give a feeling that the final episode of Lost can give.

The effect art can have on a person is astounding. I watched this show at a time in my life where I was and still am transitioning to adulthood and a ton of stuff was happening. Moving and then moving to college, deaths in my family and health issues, etc… So admittedly, this show took me 6 months to finish but it was truly the constant in my life throughout this time. I’ll forever look back at this show as the show that helped me get through this.

Greatest show ever.

Rachel & Julian

I’m towards the end of my rewatch. Juliet just died 😭😭😭

I’m not sure I’ve ever thought about this before—I’ve imagined Sawyer/Kate/Claire landing and Kate staying in Claire and Sawyer’s lives—connected to Aaron and Cassidy/Clementine…

But do we think James found Rachel and Julian? I’d imagine that during their 70s years, Juliet told him the story of how she came to the island and what she left behind.

Suddenly, I need to believe that James showed up on Rachel’s doorstep to let her know what happened to her sister—how she wanted to get back…and how her last few years on the island were full of love and some normalcy, even if it ended sadly.

This is why we rewatch, right? There’s always something new.

What other shows do you find as poignant as LOST?

Just finished the show a few days ago before it left Netflix! The ending really affected me & struck me as one of the finest representations of the afterlife I’ve ever seen. Having meditated on it a little bit, I think it’s my favorite show that I’ve watched so far. I’ve watched more “perfect” shows (e.g. Breaking Bad) &, while those shows of course can move me time to time, I find that Lost seems to grab my heart & pull it out of my chest. The only other show that has that effect on me is maybe Six Feet Under.

If anyone has a recommendation for other shows as emotional as LOST, mention them below!

Rewatched. Incredible, but confused at ending

Having seen the show for the first time about a decade ago and re-watching it over this past month, I can say, without a doubt, this is one of the greatest TV shows that’s ever been made. And I definitely enjoyed it in its entire entirety more this time through.

That being said, several things about the finale, threw me off at the end.

First of all, where is Michael? He was a vital character to the show. He doesn’t go to heaven? If it’s for killing Ana Lucia and Libby, why is Libby there and not Ana Lucia?

If Jack just died and Hurley is running the island, how is Hurley there in the church with everyone else who is dead?

If Kate and Sawyer got on the plane and left the island, why are they there?

If Kate and Sawyer died somehow in the same timespan, then that would mean Frank, Miles and Richard would have died too. Why aren’t they there?

Where is Walt?

Where is Vincent?

Why is Penny there? The Monster tells Widmore he’s gonna kill Penny when he gets off the island, so she was obviously still alive. How does it make sense for her to be there with all of the dead people?

Why does Kate bite her lip like she wants to bang Jack in the church after she takes his hand as they’re walking to the pews to sit?

Another major problem that I had is that they had Kate choose Sawyer when she had the option of Jack or Sawyer throughout the whole show. Sawyer and Juliet end up together because Jack and Kate are gone. Jack and Kate either got married and divorced or called off the wedding, I can’t remember, but we never even got to witness that. They didn’t work together their whole lives. Jack and Kate weren’t really a good match throughout the whole show and then at the end we are just supposed to accept that they ended up together? It just felt off. Jack always chose saving other people over being with the woman he loved in his life. That’s why Julie Bowen left him. He did it again at the very end when he stayed at the island and told Kate and Sawyer to go to the boat. It just doesn’t add up.

I wish they explained more with the mother and how she was able to have these powers for Jacob and his brother to never kill each other. Obviously, when Desmond pulled out the stone and the light went away, that changed. But, how in the first place was she able to give that power? All we know about her is she stole 2 sons from another woman. We should have gotten more of a backstory for the explanation of the light and the mother.

There’s obviously more to question but I’m not gonna ramble more. It’s almost 1am here after all, but those are the questions at the forefront of my mind.

Confused? Lol

Hey everyone! I’m currently watching Lost for the first time, I’m on the last two or three episodes I believe. And this one detail is driving me kinda crazy, Idk if it’s a plot hole or what. But in the season 5 finale ‘The Incident’ (can’t remember if it’s part 1 or 2), we see Jack and the MiB talking by the statue. The MiB tells Jacob that he’s gonna kill him eventually. Then flash forward to the ‘Across the Seas’ episode, we see that Jacob was living with his mother when he threw the MiB into the light that turned him into the smoke monster. I’m confused because Jacob must’ve lived at that statue years after that happened and was talking to the MiB in his original form, but Jacob had killed his original body several years before when his mom died? I’d assume Jacob went to live at the statue after his mom died? So how did the original body of the MiB meet up with Jacob there? Kind of a dumb detail to get hung up on, I just wasn’t sure if it was a plot hole or if I’m missing something? 😂
