I actually have (or at least had) some basic drawing skills cause I attended an art school when I was a kid, but we mostly did naturmorts and I don't have a slightest idea how to draw anything that is alive

One trick I remember is using your pencil to measure objects by holding it at an arm's length and comparing things. But I am not sure how can I do this if I am drawing digital.
