I actually just remembered a radio story I have

So, there was this old ass man who lived in my street when I lived with my grandma. I think this was before I met you guys.

I've never seen or talk with that guy before. One day, he finds me on the street and asks me for help fixing the antenna of his radio station or something in exchange for a few bucks.

So I go there, help messing around with cables and aluminum rods and whatever else antenas are made of; we put it on the roof and done. And then he showed me the... equipment? Workstation? Transmitter?

He said he could talk to people all over the south america with that thing, but he couldn't pick up any signal to show me. But he paid me and I left when we finished.

And I remember thinking-- are there some kind of old man society with homemade radios to talk to each other? Who are they? What do they talk about?

No riots, no violence, we just collectively abandon them to rot. We have the numbers, the have the skills, we can take care of ourselves
