My budgeting app is 50% off for the holidays - $7.49/year
I've tried pretty much every budgeting app on the App Store. They all start great. But after a few days, I'd stop using them. Too many features, too many tabs, too many steps just to log a coffee. So I built Spendy. It opens directly to the input screen. No dashboard to scroll past, no charts competing for your attention. Just open, log, close. Done. The interesting thing is, after using it for a while, it became more than just a budget tracker - it turned into a spending diary. When I jot down something like "convenience store beer after work - rough day today," I can look back and see exactly how I was feeling. It's a money log, but it reads like a journal.Features:First screen = input screenTags + notes let you keep it like a spending diaryiCloud sync (iPhone, iPad, Mac)Shared budgets built-inNo sign-up, no data stored on my serversHoliday sale: ~~$14.99~~ → $7.49/year (50% off)I've been using it daily for over a year now. If you've never stuck with a budgeting app for more than a few days, this might be the one.Feedback welcome. Search "Spendy" on the App Store.Happy holidays 🎄

Directing different audio frequencies to separate speaker outputs?
I'm trying to search the google for a solution that can route lower frequencies to my external speakers (that are a 2.1 audio system) as the left and right channels aren't good for high notes and voices, and route higher frequencies to my MacBook speakers as they're perfect for high notes etc. I know apps like Audio MIDI Setup exist for basic features like routing audio to my MacBook and speakers simultaneously but having voices play on both sets of speakers sounds unnatural. All the other apps I've found also do similar things but I haven't found any that focus on the audio frequencies. Any ideas?

I've been on this forum for a while and I am still blown away that once in a while, a program slips through the cracks. The program Application Wizard is quite neat actually. https://www.mabasoft.net/applicationwizard/index.htmlI am just playing through it now, but take a look yourself.

I just upgraded to macOS 26.2 and Bartender seems broken for me (v6.3.0). It keeps rearranging my menu bar icons, but it refuses to hide the ones I want hidden. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

I built a keyboard-first HomeKit app because the macOS Home app feels like (is) an iPad port
I spend most of my day on macOS, and the Home app has always felt off. It’s basically the iPad app dropped onto macOS:Not optimized for keyboard useSlow to navigateRequires constant mouse interactionThat becomes really noticeable when you’re in the middle of something, especially video calls. I’m often in meetings and want to quickly:Dim lightsClose shadesToggle a single accessoryOpening a full app just to do that completely breaks focus. So I built HomeSpot, a keyboard-focused HomeKit app where:Everything is searchableControls are accessible from SpotlightCommon actions take just a few keystrokesNow, during a call, I can hit Spotlight, type a device name, toggle it, and keep talking without switching apps or windows. This feels much more in line with how macOS is meant to work.Pricing-wise, HomeSpot is a one-time purchase. No subnoscriptions or ongoing fees. I wanted this to feel like a proper native utility, not another service you have to keep paying for.

Anyone found a better way to search apple messages?
Apple messages search is terrible. I can never find things that I’ve discussed in the past.I’d love a better search, a way to filter it for specific contacts so i can search through just their histories, and a way to search through the images that were sent.Gemini suggested I look at iMazing and TouchCopy, but those look like they’re specifically for migrating things off of my phone. I use apple messages heavily on my mac… so I’d like a power user app there. I also looked into Alfred and raycast plugins for this, but didnt find anything that looked powerful enough?

I built a teleprompter that hides in the MacBook notch - looking for 10 beta testers
Hey everyone,I’ve been working on a small Mac app called Notchie. It’s a teleprompter that sits in the notch area of MacBooks - right below the camera. The idea came from my own frustration: I do a lot of video calls and webinars, and I always looked away from the camera when checking my notes. People could tell I was reading. So I built this thing that:Shows scrolling text in the notch (closest spot to the camera)Lets you pause by hovering, control speed with keyboardAnd the part I’m most proud of: it’s completely invisible during screen sharingI’m looking for about 10 people who’d be willing to test it and give me honest feedback. What works, what doesn’t, what’s missing, etc.Requirements:MacBookmacOS 13 or laterWilling to share your thoughts after using it for a few daysIf you’re interested, drop a comment or DM me. I’ll send you a free copy - no strings attached. And if you have any questions about how it works, happy to answer. Thanks!

Best free wallpaper app for MacOS in my opinion
It has an infinite amount of live Wallpapers, which are mostly very decent looking.https://apps.apple.com/de/app/id1552826194?mt=12I have downloaded a forest wallpaper there and it looks reallxy good. The wallpapers are free, but they have watermarks on it. If you want to get the watermarks removed, you have to pay 5,99. But since the watermarks arent that big and are only found in the bottom left part of the screen, you dont really have to pay.

System notifications in the notch?
I have been searching for an app that replaces the macOS system notifications (top right corner) into the notch instead but havn’t found such an app yet. So basically, i would like for all system notifications to appear in the notch area via a small drop down window that stays visible for x amount of time.If anyone know of such an app, please share it or if someone could try and code it.
