After trying endless local-only no-server subnoscription-based apps, I finally snapped and decided to vibe-code my own - Say hello to Greed 💰

**Features:**

* Boost your productivity by blocking every possible distraction , including your own ability to use the app. (Proven to increase productivity by **160%** \- according to my own personal study)
* Change your Mac wallpaper, which - and I’m not exaggerating - opens a portal to another world. This feature required **months** of vibe coding and therefore justifies a subnoscription model.
* Save your clipboard messages (*pasting them back requires an in-app purchase*).
* About Button - Displays the app name, version, and build number.

**Pricing:**

* $9.99/month
* $117.99/year - **1.6% off the monthly plan!**
* $250 lifetime - *The STFU Plan*, handcrafted for Reddit users ❤️

Thanks!

Mac email rules

I set up certain rules in my mac email app to do basic things like :

If subject contains 'statement of holdings' - move to 'holdings' mailbox.

It is such a simple rule to just do that - and yet - it does not work..

Can anyone help me with this??

I'm almost ready to move to outlook.. so frustrating..

Chat Style Note taking App

Hi,

I use telegram 'Saved Messages' option and have whatsapp groups with only myself as member.

recently I've been searching a dedicated app for sending message to myself.

found some, but decided to do my take on it.

so here it is :)

https://preview.redd.it/kpsicznq8wuf1.png?width=1824&format=png&auto=webp&s=8d5afd9191ad356cab6eae00f05c9aa0621ec100

It have a timeline view we can send messages without any categorization and such.
these notes can then be organized into stacks.

also, if needed, i've added a reply option to reply to messages to add more details about a note.

fully offline, only use internet for update checking and such.

support dark/light themes and option to change to few fonts are also available.

it's a free app, so do check it out and share your thoughts :)

Cool Live Wallpaper App

https://preview.redd.it/w0ryonvskwuf1.png?width=1104&format=png&auto=webp&s=412c6b9578abe8e4b1a075f8c56794f3445e37d2

Hey peeps,

I downloaded and tried this "newish" wallpaper app, iWallpaper from the app store. It allows you to set the wallpaper to a specific display as well - which is nice.

So far loving it and recommend it to all. It is "freemium" I guess, if you can live with a watermark in the bottom left corner.

If not, you can pay $4.99 to remove the watermark OR refer three friends/peeps. I'm going the referral route by asking you to enter my referral code: pfd05qt6

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id1552826194?mt=1

I normally use static wallpaper apps but this is my first foray into live wallpaper apps. Let me know how you find the the app is for you.

P.S. You have to enter the refferal code in the apps settings, there is s section there for it...

I built a little Mac app for myself, coworkers loved it, now it’s on the App Store

So I originally built this app just for my own use at work, it helped me stay organized with all the meetings I’m in every day. I mentioned it to a few coworkers, and they really liked the idea and suggested I post it to the Mac App Store.

I always liked what Plaud.ai was doing, but the hardware and yearly subnoscription were way too expensive kind of insane actually. Also i wasnt a fan of my audio being sent to their cloud. So I made my own take on it having everything completely offline unless you want to use OpenRouter, added a meeting assistant, and some other features to make my note taken easier since sometimes I’m multitasking and need to catch up quickly by chatting with it. I use Obsidian but you can easily have the notes into anything really since it outputs it into markdown. I made it free for 30min of recording a day and full version is a buy once license for unlimited use. Happy to give out some promo codes for it.

If anyone wants to check it out or has feedback, I’d love to hear it.

JSON Assistant: Format, collapse/expand and save your JSON snippets.

Hey guys,

If you are a dev and work with JSON payloads, both sending and receiving, you are probably reaching for tools like JSON Formatter, JSON Beautifier, etc.
I also downloaded the JSON Viewer app on my Mac to format the different JSON payloads I come across, but when debugging MULTIPLE JSON snippets, I had to resort to storing them in Notion and copy/pasting juggling.

So, I took advantage of AI coding and scratched my own itch, built me my own JSON Viewer on steroids:

* The obvious: format JSON, collapse and expand.
* But also:
* Save snippets
* Name them
* Ordered by date

Let me know what you guys think!

PD: Forgot link ahahaha

Best app to create app like instances of websites

Looking for something like Unite 6 that lets you create an app instead of using a website directly.

Not really loving Unite 6 or the ability in Safari.

Any suggestions

Free Dynamic Island for Mac (Boring Notch)

I was looking into the various dynamic island options available for mac when I stumbled upon Boring Notch. I loved the app at first as it looked cool and the best thing - it's free. But there is one serious issue
When Boring Notch is running, it completely hides the native macOS volume HUD. However, it doesn't provide its own replacement. This means when I change the volume, I get no visual feedback on the screen. It's impossible to tell what the volume level is, which is a huge step back in usability. Can I somehow fix this, if not what are the good free/cheap alternatives to Boring notch

FocuSee backtracking on "Lifetime Free Updates" promise for early adopters? Looking for thoughts.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to get the community's thoughts on an issue I'm having with the screen recording software FocuSee and hope to give a heads-up to other users.

I purchased a one-time plan for FocuSee back in 2024. A major selling point for me was their explicit policy on updates for early buyers. Their official policy stated:

https://preview.redd.it/fguuey2az0vf1.png?width=1286&format=png&auto=webp&s=cc1eefcc73b65be3e739c988551b57622c59bae2

https://web.archive.org/web/20241223181209/https://focusee.imobie.com/pricing.htm?ref=header

Now that Version 2 has been released, the software is prompting me to pay for the upgrade. I reached out to their customer support, provided my proof of purchase and a link to their policy on the Wayback Machine.

This was their response:

>

Here's my concern:

1. The offer is only for V2.0. The original promise was for "V2, V3, and all future versions!" Their response feels like a one-time fix to quiet me down, not an acknowledgment of the lifetime policy. I'm worried that when V3 comes out, I'll have to go through this all over again.
2. The AI Credits. Their support response also noted that the free upgrade would not include AI credits.

It feels like they are not honoring the spirit or the letter of the agreement made at the time of purchase. Am I misinterpreting their response, or is this a red flag? Has anyone else who bought FocuSee before 2025 run into this?

TL;DR: FocuSee promised lifetime free updates (V2, V3+) for anyone who bought before 2025. Now they're asking for payment. Support offered a free upgrade to V2 only, ignoring the "all future versions" part of the promise.

Video player for SD cards

Hi all, looking for some help finding the right app.

We use SD cards in our game cameras and they take videos instead of pictures. When we open the SD cards on a Windows machine, we can click right or left to go to the next video without closing the video player. It is incredibly useful when watching hundreds of 20 second videos in a row.

However, on my Mac, the only way I have found to view all the videos without opening up a new window for each one, is to use the quick preview function. This is less than ideal for a number of reasons.

Does anyone know of an app that would allow you to scroll through videos like you would scroll through pictures on a Mac?

(Downloading the videos to the Mac is not an option)
