Setapp Pricing - Advertised Price is not the same as Charged Price

I used the Setapp free trial maybe 2 or 3 months back, while it does offer some cool things I could not justify $30.00/mo for it, so ultimately passed. I've seen some other posts with pricing online, and what is offered to me does not seem to match up with what I've seen elsewhere. When I go to Setapps website, the plan I would like (Mac + iOS) is listed as $12.49/Mo. When I log into my account to reactivate my plan, the same plan is listed as $30.99/Mo. Why is that? If it were the $12.49 I'd likely be a regular subscriber, Now I just plan to use it for a month or so to see which apps I like the best and get them individually. I have Add AI and save 10% annually marked off for both plans. Why is it actually more than double in price?

For those who don't mind paying one time for apps, but won't pay for a subnoscription, do you expect the developers to update the apps forever to make them run on future macOS versions?

Just wondering. So many of you said that you didn't mind paying for good apps, but also said that you would not pay for subnoscription-based apps.

Trying to find this old Mac app from around 2020

Hey all!

I used to use an app on my MacBook (around mid-2020) that had an always-on sidebar where you could pin your social media apps, things like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, etc. It showed little badge notifications whenever you got messages or updates.

I think it might have been called Stack, it may have morphed into Stack Browser, which looks similar but that is more cluttered than it was, or something really similar? It was like a unified dashboard for all your web apps and socials hub.

Does anyone remember this, or know if it still exists under another name?

The New BundleHunt Mac Bundle Is Live — Here’s What’s Worth Grabbing

The bargain software shopping spree that happens every November leading up to Black Friday is officially underway. The new Bundlehunt offering debuts today with an unusually strong offering of power user tools as opposed to a collection of cookie-cutter clipboard managers and AI chat wrappers. It's got good automation tools, some real creative apps, and a few niche power-user picks that would normally run you $40 or more. This is a bundle for getting work done, being creative and optimizing work flows. A few of the apps are geared towards developers, but most are for regular home and office users looking for useful tools.

I've been buying apps from Bundlehunt since 2015. When you make a purchase from them, you get a personally generated page with download links, license codes and installation instructions. Some apps are for a single computer, but often you can install what you purchase on multiple Macs. You can also download a CSV with all that info for your records. Not every app is a gem of course, but it's been a great way for me to pick up some real keepers at a fraction of the normal price. Additionally, I have never had a security issue with anything purchased there if you are wondering "Is it safe?"
