The very simple fact that without eastward NATO expansion, Russia would not have had a security dilemma.

As it went viral, showed this thread to a few top experts in Moscow & asked for their views. "нет, это ерунда (No, this is nonsense)," was the consensus.

Russia, they say, sees the EU & NATO as "the same complex."

Moscow believes they have become one bloc... "the West."

One expert pointed out that "back in 2008, (then President) Dmitry Medvedev tried to negotiate seperately with them, but quickly realised that they speak as a collective, so there was no point."

"It's really sad that Western 'experts' are so misinformed," added another.

IMO, the poor quality of Russia expertise in the West is very dangerous, and is the primary factor fuelling continuous Western missteps in policy towards Moscow.

Political leaders are receiving bad advice from people who are basically guessing, and keep getting things wrong.
