Back in April, I wrote about the strange kind of censorship by US-based Big Tech, citing multiple examples of erasing content celebrating the Red Army's defeat of Nazis in WW2. With the 80th anniversary of the Nazi invasion ("Operation Barbarossa") looming, it seems the censorship continues.
"The Sacred War" (Священная война) is a song that inspired the Soviets to resist the invaders in 1941. Apparently, YouTube is now flagging a video of it with English-language lyrics as "inappropriate or offensive to some audiences" as determined by the "community" — i.e. YouTube moderators.
As I noted back in April, if celebrating the defeat of Nazis is offensive to the "community," then "perhaps there’s something deeply wrong with that community."
