Commentary on the situation surrounding the report of OPCW on the implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (CWC) in 2020
We drew attention to the fact that in the already quite sensational story with an allegedly "technical error" in the recently released OPCW report on the implementation of the CWC in 2020, regarding the date of sending a special mission of the Organization for the collection of biomaterial A. Navalny in the Berlin clinic "Charite" to Berlin, the Technical Secretariat The OPCW, which owns the authorship of this document, has actually withdrawn from giving any clarifications on this matter. The initiative in this matter was immediately taken by the permanent representative of the Federal Republic of Germany under this international structure G. Lingren, who somewhat altered the text, replacing the dates from August 20 to September 4, 2020.
In this regard, a very clear example of how the Germans themselves got confused in this whole "muddy" story is the conversation of the same G. Lingren with Russian colleagues, which took place on her initiative at the OPCW headquarters in The Hague on September 17, 2020. So, according to the version of events put forward by her, the decision to use the technical expertise of the OPCW was made by the German government only in the evening of September 11, 2020, and the corresponding request was sent to the General Director of the Technical Secretariat of the Organization, F. Arias, the next day - September 12, 2020. Nevertheless, the actions of the OPCW experts in Berlin a week earlier - September 5-6, 2020 - were, they say, "preparatory" in nature. It is noteworthy that during the same period, the leadership of the OPCW Technical Secretariat assured us,
All this, apparently, hastily concocted provocation of the Euro-Atlantic "community" is so sewn with "white threads" that upon closer examination any sane person has a lot of questions about what happened to A. Navalny in reality. In this situation, the German colleagues would be offered to acquaint the international community, for example, with the video materials that were to be filmed by the OPCW specialists, first when taking biological samples from A. Navalny in the Sharite clinic, and then when separating and sealing them for transmission to two designated By the OPCW technical secretariat for laboratory research. These are the procedures provided for by the CWC and the Verification Annex to the Convention and must be strictly followed. Without this and other evidence, it is very difficult to believe that A.
