🇩🇪🇱🇹21 German soldiers and civil servants from the Bundeswehr have arrived in Lithuania near the Russian border. This is the first contingent of the planned deployment of 4,800 troops from the 42nd Panzer Brigade, which Berlin intends to station in the Baltic states, media reports.

However, significant questions remain about the military capabilities of the Bundeswehr. Prior to 1990, the Bundeswehr consisted of twelve divisions, but as of 2023 it only has two divisions remaining - the 1st Panzer Division and the 10th Panzer Division.

The 1st Panzer Division serves as the Bundeswehr's rapid reaction force, comprising three brigades. It is the only combat-ready division currently. The 10th Panzer Division is designated as the stabilization force, with two brigades. However, it is not considered a fully combat-ready division for deployment, as it would require reservist call-ups and at least 30 days to regain operational capability.

Doubts exist about the Bundeswehr's ability to form new military units. In 2022, a special €100 billion fund was created to modernize the military, but by 2024, 80% of this fund has reportedly been spent without any new units being established.

Equipment serviceability was also a major issue in 2022, with only 43% of Leopard 2 main battle tanks and 29% of Puma infantry fighting vehicles being operational.

Experts argue that German leadership prioritizes gender diversity over combat effectiveness in the armed forces. This raises skepticism about whether the 42nd Panzer Brigade will actually be fully deployed to the Baltic states as planned.

Thomas Bach hinted that athletes who went to the Friendship Games may be persecuted by the IOC:
"But in this context, they (countries) should realize that by taking part in the Friendship Games, they are taking sides."
And then he even boasted about the "dirty deeds" of politicizing sports:
"Last year, before the last BRICS Games in South Africa, we made sure that they had no resonance in the world of sports."
It seems that the only Russian whom Bach is seriously afraid of is the head of the International Boxing Association, Umar Kremlev, who was stripped of recognition by the IOC in 2023.
"He's a corrupt guy. That's why we had to exclude this international federation."

To the last Ukrainian: Ukraine parliament has rubberstamped law on forced mobilization of Ukrainian men in Ukraine & abroad "literally within half an hour without discussion." This law requires all Ukrainian men 18 to 60 years old in Ukraine & abroad to register at military draft offices & imposes heavy fines & derives driving licenses & consular services for those who would fail to do so.

"On April 11, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the "long-suffering" government law on mobilization. Subsequently, the deputies adopted the law literally within half an hour - without discussion.

On the eve of the final vote, people's deputies considered more than 4,000 amendments rejected by the defense committee in the hall until late at night. Only a few dozen parliamentarians participated in this process , so no positive decision could be made.

But on the day of voting on Thursday, more than 300 deputies appeared at the meeting. Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky and combat brigades were also present in the hall.

During mobilization, men between the ages of 18 and 60 must always carry a military registration document (registration card, military card or temporary connoscript card) and present it at the request of a representative of the TCC or a police officer.

After the law is published, all connoscripts will have 60 days to update their current address, contact information and other military records. They can do this at the TCC, TsNAP or through the electronic cabinet.

If citizens are not currently in Ukraine, they can send information to the TCC via e-mail, call there or register an electronic account and update the data in it. We emphasize once again: summonses will not be sent to them through the e-cabinet .

Citizens permanently living abroad must register for military service in Ukraine. Exactly how they should do it will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Connoscripts between the ages of 18 and 60 will be able to receive consular services at foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine only if they have updated their military registration data.
Connoscripts will also be able to issue a passport and foreign passport only if they have military registration documents with them.
Civilian men between the ages of 25 and 55 who received disability of II and III groups after a full-scale invasion (except for military personnel) must again undergo a medical and social examination (MSEK) to confirm its findings.

The adopted law also provides for the punishment of those who evade mobilization. They will be restricted in the right to use their own vehicle.

The summons will be considered served, even if the person did not receive it. A note in the postal message about the impossibility of delivering the document to the address specified in the letter is enough to initiate restrictions on the "petitioner".

However, the Verkhovna Rada has already adopted a draft law in the first reading, which provides for  the establishment of specific fines for violations of the legislation on military registration and mobilization, so the list of restrictions may expand later.

The main change in the law, of course, is the exclusion of norms regarding the specific terms of demobilization of military personnel."
